Rossio station (Lisbon, Portugal) by Redang The station in Queluz is called Queluz-Belas, and there are some stations in Lisbon where you can take the train. You will be there in about 15 minutes. In Lisbon: - Rossio: It's in the city centre. Metro: Restauradores (blue line), although Rossio metro station (green line) is not far anyway. - Sete Rios: Further north from the city centre, just in case your accommodation is in Marqués de Pombal area; in this case, it's closer. Metro: Jardim Zoológico (blue line). - Santa Apolónia: In case your hotel is near this station. Metro: Santa Apolónia (blue line). - Oriente: This station is in front of Parque das Nações, so, maybe you don't need to take the train here. Normally, the trains leave from Santa Apolónia or Rossio. In any case, look for urbanos, Lisboa, Linha (line) de Sintra (check the website down below). Once you leave the station in Queluz, you only have to follow the signs, it's well indicated and you don't need public transport, it only takes around 10 minutes walking. by NunoF Tile Room... Tiles were always a great tradition in Portuguese' architecture, I create a travelogue with more pictures from this room, all 4 walls are covered by tiles representing our former colonies and the 4 seasons. Leave a Comment

by NunoF The Hanging Gardens designed by Robillion, were built over arches, raising the ground in front of the palace above the surounding gardens. Near we find also the Malta Gardens. These gardens were used to perform some classical music concerts, the court started to hear the concert at the music room and then the concert would continue at the gardens. Leave a Comment

by NunoF Sometimes when I look at these pictures I almost think that they weren't taken in Portugal, although the state rooms aren't in their best condition (as many other things in Portugal) this palace is very beautiful.... Leave a Comment

This palace was built by Queen Maria I, whose statue graces the square in front of it. This palace is not 100%-preserved, as it has suffered significantly during the French occupation and the subsequent passage of time, but it still has retained a lot to impress a visitor. You may even dine in the original kitchen if you wish, and the place does sometimes host high-ranking guests of the state. There is a beautifully landscaped garden in the palace, visit to which is included in the E4 entrance fee. Leave a Comment Directions: Largo do Palacio
