Within the trip or vacation, one of the main questions frequently asked is 'what is there to do in a place for me?' In Zambujeira, this particular question takes on an even greater significance when soon enough you realize from the town's obvious superlative setting and lack of touristic amenities, that there's hardly anything here that could be considered wildly fun as far as modern partying goes or even touristic activities which most visitors are accustomed to doing and looking for. There are a couple of bars to hang out at and that's about it. Also if you're into surfing, Zambujeira's main beaches are constantly battered by big enough waves which attract a few regulars of the sport. But if you're into thoroughly simple pleasures, this beautiful seaside village has fantastic walking trails upon her endless cliffs on both directions from town. And along all these lonely superb hillside cliffs are equally endless lonely beaches down below whereupon one can go ahead and stake a claim for privacy and secret joys.

Between these cliffs and sea are endless lust

O Martinho is one of only about four restaurants in Zambujeira do Mar. It serves great unpretentious food mostly from the town's own produce and wonderful sea food with which as in all of Portugal they grill best to your liking. The fish they serve is hauled right from the ocean below where O Martinho and the whole of Zambujeira do Mar look out to endlessly. This small restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating under billowing canopy where it is best to sit and enjoy your meal of fresh food looking across the enigmatic ocean.

Favorite Dish: The fresh seafood catch varies daily. But the restaurant seem to never run out of the fat shimmering Portuguese sardines even at low season which they grill to perfection with nothing on them but sea salt. You get on your plate at least half a dozen of these fresh sardines which are served complimented with fresh salad. With good but very inexpensive house wines, you cannot possibly think unprivileged after eating their meals!

Hmmm, clams in olive oil and cilantro at Martinho
