We spent just a day in Marvão but it worth the visit.
It is a small village in Alentejo only a few miles from Spain at a top of peak (Serra do Sapoio - 800 e 860 metros) surrounded of a great wall......
On the top of the hill, lies the beautiful town of Marvão. The setence used to describe it is true. You stand above the clouds and can see the birds back. But there's a lot more to see too.
A rider from Islam, Ibn Marwan used to rest here in the IXth century and the village got its name from him... This garden is exquisite as you can see....
