Besides enjoying fantastic views from the castle, the second best thing to do in Marvão would be to admire the whitewashed houses that are lined up on every street in the town. Red roofs and white buildings of each house are nothing more than how the traditional Portuguese houses are built, yet these two colors, with the sky in a deep ocean-blue color, give a great mixture altogether. As you walk along the streets of Marvão, notice how well the color of each house matches the color of sky. These are two very different colors, but are combined to create the better and brighter view of the town.
Isn't it amazing to think that some people actually live in these houses in this beautiful town?
