The delta of the river Sado is a very unique eco system. Here one of the very few populations worldwide of river dolfins can be found. But also rare bird species use the delta for their living.

For your eyes the delta offers interesting views depending on which time you will be here as the tides influence this very flat delta. It can happen that it seems totaly empty, but just think how much life is hiding in the mud.
In town, a little aside the main street, you will find the Church of São Pedro. It is the main church of Comporta. With its colors the church fits beautifully into the arrangement of blue and white colored houses.
As in many villages and towns of Portugal you will also find storks nesting here in Comporta. It gives the nice town an even more beautiful charm when you see the storks sitting on the nice blue and white buildings. In my opinion a photo stop here can't be avoided.
