The most popular beach around Sines is Porto Covo. Some years ago, it was a wild area, with a secluded beach turned into a privilege to the few who could access it.

Successive investments transformed it in a massive holiday place, and... a beach like many other.

sº torpes beach. a windy one just a couple of miles from Sines. on winter time all surf lovers go there. and the must of it is the temperature of the water. an amazing 28º all year around, due to the electrical factory on it's outskirts, where they recycal sea water at high temperatures and turn it back to the beach, making the water of this beach corner similar to any caribbean resort. true. and no arm done to it's bather's. i garantee. so do they.

Sines is part of the St. Vincent and Southwest Alentejo Coast Natural Park, one of the best-preserved coast areas in Europe. There are some of the finest Portuguese beaches (“praias”), small bright sand sheets among huge rocks creating an ambience of intimacy and exclusiveness (we point out Praia Grande de Porto Covo, Praia da Ilha, Praia de Morgavel). At a little distance it’s countryside, with warm forests of pine and cork trees, where you can rest or have a picnic.

nearby sines a wonderfull animal resort where you can have a rare and true safari jeep cruise. yet with few animals , like little bambi's, zebra's, and many others. a wonderfull day at badoca with a restaurant and other facilities for kids to enjoy a nice time amongst the nature. in all a wonderfullway to spend the afternoon if u came across alentejo coastline region.
