This beautiful river brings me a lot of memories from my childhood. I grew up by the river and Spain.
But this river has a rich history. It's waters saw many battles between Portugal and Spain. Some spanish civil war refuggees escaped by crossing it's waters. And later the same waters were a place of contraband.
Today the river is in fact what unites the regions of Minho and Galicia
