Her you see the monument dedicated to the emigrants that Manuel Moreira Giesteira had made for laundos portraying his family leaving Portugal for a better life.

He is the baby in the mother?s arms. The monument is also pointing west to Brazil and the viewing platform is a huge marble compass showing where major countries are from that point
On one side of the monument there is a tile portrait of the famous Portuguese sailor alvares Cabral when he first discovered Brazil and on the other side

There is an inscription that says.

"To the children of this land that went,
    Fought, and returned.
    And those who went, fought,
And did not return, But we never
    Forgot "

    3rd windmill

Here you see the 3rd windmill that belonged to my wife?s great-grandfather, he would carry sacs of wheat from his home at the bottom of the hill on his back all the way to the top of the hill where he would grind it and bring it back down, oh good old days. This windmill is of a medium size and has no windows just the door entrance.
