There are many places to go hiking in and around the area.
If you want to see great views of the city of Porto then you should go up to the top of Pilar and have a walk around.

Remember that ontop of Pilar is a military radar and the site is OFF LIMITS so do not try to enter it.

You can however walk around the outside of the site and enjoy the views.

Another place on the top of Pilar is the Military radar site.

The radar sits ontop of a very large granite stone and is one of the nicest sites in Portugal.

You can not enter the site but you can walk around the place.

    Look out point

Favorite thing: If you are going to spend some time here then you should get to know some of the locals as they know the best places to eat and to party.

On the peak of the mountain (hill) there is a lookout point with a statue of Christ. This is a local favorite place for young people to go and park their cars at night.

Fondest memory: As with anywhere in Portugal you go you will find the people here to be friendly and helpful.
