You even can feel some disappointment but when you get in you realize you are in the bog, modern mall. The Via Catarina space is a charismatic, singular thought in detail. A superb location in the commercial oldest district of Porto, Rua de Santa Catarina, a set of restaurants that reproduce traditional architecture and diverse offering of shops and services complete the wide range of offerings in this shopping center. And the most important thing is you can get breakfast, dinner or supper here from nine through ten o’clock while restaurants in the city are closed. All restaurants including fast food are situated at the upper floor.

Porto has several modern shopping centres. Some of them are outside the city centre, such as Arrabida Shopping Centre (as you cross Arrabida bridge). In city centre you will find Shopping Centre Cidade do Porto (just by the end of Boavista street) and Santa Catarina - a shopping centre located in Santa Catarina street (see previous tip). In any of these shopping centres you will mainly find international makes. Shopping Centres are open every day, most of them open around 10am and close around 11pm or midnight. Most shopping centres have good parking facilities and cinemas, as well as restaurants.
The Rua Santa Catarina in the center of the city is a nice and quite long pedestrian zone with all kind of shops. The building on the left ,"VIA CATARINA", holds a relatively large shopping center. You would not assume this without knowing it beforehand - but now that I have told you ... ;-)
The center has four floors with some nice stores and a big food plaza on the top floor. Don't miss out on it, especially if it is raining as heavily as it was when I was in Porto and if you have to find a place to dry out a bit ...
This shopping center has three stages with hundreds of different stores, restaurants and a cinema.
What to buy: In this shopping center it's possible to buy almost everything
