A very scenic drive is the northern coastal road between Porto Moniz and Seixal. 16 km of beautiful scenery with high cliffs, waterfalls, terraces with vineyards, etc.

Porto Moniz has no beaches and the sea is rather rough.
However, thanks to the lava rock formations, some natural swimming pools arose in these rocks. Of course the depth of the water depends from the tide.
Favorite thing: The road to Porto Moniz was realy dangerous some years ago. Fortunatelly new tunels solved the problem. The old roads are still used by tourisme buses.
I passed through the village moments that never I will never forget. The green that encircles the village makes us feel in perfect harmony with nature.
Fondest memory: The giant waves over the pools!
