Porto Santo Island Restaurants

Just had to review this restaurant/cafe because the last review (a year ago) is so unfair - and if it ever was anything but malicious is certainly not true now.
We found this place by chance and ate there 7 times at lunch during our stay - never let down with choice or quality (and any variation you want on cooking - e.g. grill not fry seems not to be a problem).
An unpretentious little open air (and indoor) restaurant/bar/ cafe which is well worth a visit.

Favorite Dish: Cherne (Stone bass) - large game fish served with salad and new potatoes - very tasty.

We visited this restaurant earlier this year and would not recomend it! The food was not good, and the general presentation of the place was terrible.

The floor was dirty, the staff loud (we could hear arguments coming from the kitchen) and my partner was ill the following morning.

There isn't much to do on this little island other than eat out, and not too many places to choose from, but if you do take a trip here, avoid eating the seafood at this local restaurant....

Fantastic New Look! Clean, Fresh and under new management! Had a brilliant vibe and food was delicious. accomodated the whole family, seats were available for my children. Outside area is fenced so felt comfortable for the children to play along side us. Right on the beach so very relaxed, music in the background, really felt as though we were on holiday!

Restaurant owner/ host fluent in English and staff confident in English too! Made to feel very welcome. A lift to and from our hotel to the restaurant was even provided for us!!!

We spent 3-4 evenings in the Mar E Sol and dinner was delicious and the mood just right! The children enjoyed it too! The family atmospher made us want to go back! Would definitely reccommend to friends back home, and anyone else who hasn't yet been since its recent refurbishment! Enjoy!

This is one of the best restaurants in Porto Santo Island. Having dinner here is fantastic, many candles will light your dinner on the beach. The environment is really perfect.

Nest stop Calheta beach. I never thought about having lunch here because we thought it was too expensive. But it was not. We had fresh sea food with fantastic Madeira wine.
