Centro hippico (the only horse range on the island) lures you with a free horse carriage trip from your hotel to the place. However they do not transport you back! After 10 p.m. there is no way to get another transport and you`ll have to walk. Our food (christmas day!) was lukewarm, re-heated and overcharged. After paying the host turn suddenly quit unfriendly and we felt very much cheated. There are lots of better places on the Island.
Fun Alternatives: Alternatives are Salinas at the Torre Praia Hotel (food which meets international standards and everything is cooked from scratch plus excellent service) or try Gazelle restaurant: they`ll pick you up at your accomodation (and will bring you back) the food (we had the beef) is high quality, the service is attentive but unobstrusive in combination with genuine friendliness. Or go to any small bar and ask for prego in a bola de caco - this is a piece of fried beef in a local roll. Inexpensive and delicious.
Porto santo is famous for its fountains. In a so barren island it is always pleasant to have water close to you. :)
