Favorite thing: Santana is known for its triangular houses.
You can visit two of these houses but they are especially set up for tourists, so don't expect to see an authentic triangular house.
Hordes of tourists around all the time ...
I thought this was some kind of a tourist trap.
Fondest memory: These triangular houses (A-houses) can be rented at the bar Escondidinho das Canas (on the main road to Faial).

Favorite thing: The drive from Santana to São Jorge is very worthwhile. Like everywhere else on the island the roads are winding and narrow, along steep gorges and the blue sea is never far away.

Traditional house seem to be all that Santana has to show. Not much to justify one hour driving, so I limited myself to my friends descriptions and pictures, and went elsewhere
