  • The "veredas"

    The "veredas" or trails had been the way that our ancestors found to reach the sea by the mountains. At that time there were no roads, only trails. The trails were the only way to reach far away locations. Today locals still use these trails to reach their fields and plantations.

  • Levada walks

    All aroun madeira you'll find many levadas. They take the water to all corners of santana. It's a perfect path to see all the district by foot. Take care if you have vertigo.

  • People have allways flowers

    Poor, rich, it doesn,t matter. In Santana all the people have flowers at home. It's like a simbol of Santana people.

    Rocky beaches can be found all over Santana! The stones may hurt your feet! :( But the warm temperature of the waters will make you forget that :)))
