I was informed about this restaurant which is popular among locals. I came here along with three firends and we ordered grilled and fried fish. We found fish here fresh, but food was a little salty, so when ordering remmember them to reduce salt.
They offer a good menu and prices are around 4.9 EUR.
Dessert is limited to only two kind of cakes.
Favorite Dish: I ordered grilled Boca Negra fish and it was excellent, but a little salty.
One place I always recomend to people visiting my island is a visit to Quinta do Martelo.
Quinta do Martelo is a restaurant/hotel set in an old fashioned farm setting.
The restaurant is decorated as an old farm house was at least 60 years ago, in great detail and with authentic antiques.
Favorite Dish: The food is home made and even the bread is baked on the premises, the old fashioned way, in a wood burning brick oven.
Try the traditional "alcatra" typical ONLY to the island of Terceira. Alcatra can be made of meat, fish, poultry or beans. Quinta do Martelo's bean alcatra is especially good and when accompanied by a fine Portuguese red wine, all the better.
Before dinner take a walk around the grounds and check out all details, right down to the old fashioned "out house".
If the weather is nice, ask for a table outside, in the yard, under the grape vines.
Reservations are not required but are recomended.
A charming restaurant in downtown. I found here a good service for a good price.
Some desserts are home made.
Favorite Dish: Fried or grilled fish.
