Flowers in Santa Cruz

In Flores time seems not to exist. So no panic if a shop (or the filling station) is supposed to be open at e.g. 8 o'clock, but at 9.30 it is still closed. It is something normal here in Flores…

Ilha das Flores

This Island is the most westerly piece of land in Europe. Due to this fact it's more exposed to the Atlantic climatic changes. Least expected one can be retained on the island for a week... no conditions to fly or sail out of the island.
Thus, the best season of the year to visit the island is at the end of spring/beginning of summer (June and July). This way the risk is lower and the island at this time of the year is even more beautiful.
