The Espirito Santo festival is held the 7th week after easter and is one of the most important festivals on the Azores.
It goes over a whole weekend and has lot's of music and parades and even more local food and drink.
It's an official celebration of the holy spirit so you have a religious touch to it, but it's combined with lot's of pop and folk music aswell as fado and then we top it up with lot's of good food and beer.
If you happen to be in Ponta Delgada when it takes place then it's a spectacle you should not miss.
