Restaurante Chines Hong Fu: Let's Try Chinese

On our second night in Lamego, we had returned from a long day-trip to the 'Geraz do Minho' region in northern Portugal, almost to the border with Spain. After a pleasant stroll from our hotel down the steps of the famous 686 step double-staircase in Lamego, we turned to the right off off the treed esplanade onto a parallel street. It was here that we had earlier spotted a Chinese restaurant and decided to give it a try. Once again, at 7:30 PM, we were too early, having the place largely to ourselves. However, a very friendly young Chinese girl showed us to our table. Not surprisingly, she could only speak Chinese and Portugese, but the restaurant had a very good English menu as well as their usual one.
We started with the obligatory beer and wine to go with our 'starter' of Roasted Almonds (E1.75). For main courses, Sue ordered Prawns with Mushrooms (E5) while I went for my old standby...
