There is no airport in Budva but Tivat airport is about 35km north. Tivat is not hugely convenient either as it has only limited scheduled flights and summer charter flights. Podgorica airport is also poorly served from Western Europe so that leaves Dubrovnik as the nearest airport with connections all over Europe. From Dubrovnik to Budva takes between 3 – 4 hours by bus depending on length of time at the border.
Adria, Austrian and JAT airlines are a airlines which do serve Tivat and/or Podgorica

The nearest airport is Tivat around 20 minutes away by bus. The approach to landing at the airport is very special, flying between high mountains and down the valley to the runway.
From the UK JAT airways fly in on Saturdays in summer from Heathrow. Another possible airport is Dubrovnik, just over the border in Croatia, aroud a 2 hour transfer.
Tivat airport is currently expanding, this usually means that the low cost airlines are about to arrive - watch this space!

Since Budva is such a popular resort, it is very easy to get to by bus from many cities in the region, including frequent service to and from Belgrade, Podgorica, Kotor, Cetinje, and Bar.

Rent one of these kiddie cars just outside the city walls! I checked out the inventory but left when I couldn't find a mini F-150.
Inside the walls, no automobile traffic is permitted - I'm not even sure the kiddies could have gotten these wheels past the gate.
Parking is plentiful just outside the city walls. And it's free. Free and plentiful parking. Those words are music to this Californian's ears.
That large rampart in the background is part of the 15th century city wall that surrounds the Stari Grad or old town. The Venetians ruled the town for 300 years, and their influence is clearly evident throughout the town.

If you have decided for coming by air, you will arrive at one of the nearby airports. Tivat and Podgorica airports are your fastest link to the Budva. Enquire about the flight schedule at the nearest travel agents. If you prefer to travel by train, then you local destination will be Bar, Sutomore or Podgorica. When you get there, the rest is easy. Bus lines are very well organized, both in season and out of it. Rent-a-car is also available, at very favorable prices, and the choice of car depends only on you. The ferry is another connection. It runs between Bar and Bari.

My friend and I travelled to and from the town of Kotor by bus The fare was around 2 Euros. The view of Budva is great as you approach it from the high mountain roads and the bus station is about 30 mins walk from the Walled Town. Buses go to and from Budva from many of the other locations such as Bar, Podgorica and Cetinje. These fares range from about 2 - 4 Euros and run frequently.
* The most important thing to remember is remembering exactly where the bus station is since the quite local roads around it all look the same, and it didn't seem to be well signposted from the coastal road which leads to the Walled Town.

Because i don t drive , i got to Budva by bus from Bar having arrived there by ferry from Italy. The cost was just a few euro. The bus station in Bar is a good walk from the ferry terminal, near the rail station. ( no train to Budva ) The journey took about an hour. The road twists between the mountains and the sea. The bus station in Budva as makeshift departure board for places like Koter, Cetinje, Hercig novi and Dubrovnic. The fares are cheapest in europe.
