Legend: Quality Clothes, made in Serbia and Montenegro
I think when being abroad, one should look for the product of the local brands. Big names shops can be found anywhere. So, I am going to point to you some good shops that sell items of the domestic production. Legend is one of them. Almost everything here is made from pure cotton or wool. It is more for young people, but there is always something that can sute all ages.
What to buy: Clothes for both sexes
What to pay: 10-100 euros, depends what you buy, it is not expencive at all, comparing to the quallity.
Onyx: Big Bargains - Better than Factory Outlets
Like other places in Montenegro, there are a lot of bargains to be had in Budva. We stopped by this gold shop (“zlatare”) called Onyx and I purchased a good quality 14K gold bracelet for $120 Eurodollars and a gold chain for my daughter for $35 Eurollars.
What to buy: The shop had quite an assortment of jewelry – beautiful anklets (my favorite), rings, watches and necklaces. They even issue a certificate of authenticity (“garancija kvaliteta”) when you make your purchase.
What to pay: Not much compared to the US

Todor: Extra quality Kids Clothes
Very nice Children's Clothes of extra quality. It is cheep too. Espect to pay far more for the same quality back home ( if you are from West Europe or USA). Very often they even have a big discounts, so if you are in Budva and have kids, you should check it.
Old Town or along the promenade: Paintings with Budve motives
Huge number of painters and paintings can be found on the streets of Budva during the peakseason. As you can imaggine, nice pices as well as the trash ones are on sail. The thing is that you can get realy good buy, the painting of the tallented man for good price. Just look hard enough. If you succeed, you will have your pice of art to remnd you on the lovely summer forever.
Dirt Cheap CDs
There are a few CD shops in Budva, and since I love music so much, we stopped by one and searched through the CD collection. The store we visited had one section for regional artists and one for international artists. Vocalists and groups of international fame such as Dido, Maroon 5, Sara McLachlin, and Norah Jones were very popular.
When we travel abroad, we like to bring back CDs of national artists. In Budva, the shopkeeper was very helpful and gave us some very helpful recommendations for Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian artists. He even played snippets of each CD for us before we bought them.
What to buy: Most of the regional (Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian) artists featured in this CD shop were solo singers. We asked the shopkeeper if there were any good Serbian or Croatian groups. He said, “No, not really. Groups don’t do too well in Serbia & Montenegro. Solo artists do.” After hearing this, I wondered what would have happened if the Fab Four or Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones tried to get their start in Yugoslavia.
I was amazed at the low prices. The CDs, even those recorded by the international artists were only 3 or 4 Eurodollars apiece. After expressing my amazement several times, my 16 year old son said, “Mom, these are all bootlegged copies. See, these aren't packaged and they don't have seals. And look at the pictures on the cover. There’s something not quite right about them. They’re all distorted.”
How does my 16-year old son know these things?? I bought a bunch anyway, bootlegged or not. The pictures might be distorted but I sure have enjoyed listening to my CDs. When they are playing on my stereo, you’d never know they were bootlegged.
What to pay: $3 to $4 Eurodollars

Afrodita Mode Collection: Local Designer Shop
I love shopping here. Very nice, original and again made from good quality marerials. Last time I found nice woole jacket. I payed for it 35 euros. Guess, it is a very good buy. They also have nice wallets, hand bags and other women's accessories. It is little hidden, in one small street in the Old Town, so it can be difficult to find it (even to me).
The Manual Co: Great Quality Leather Goods
Fantastis shop in which you can find large variety of the hand bags, wallets and belts. All items are mde from high quality leather. You should expect to pay from 50-150 euros for the Hand bag. It is worth every penny. All of these are made in domestic factory in Novi Sad, Serbia.
various shops in the Old Town: The gold is not too expencive
Again, made in Serbia ad Montenegro:-) Jewelry lovers, why don't buy some original 14 or 18 carat pices made by the local gold craftsman. Affordible prices, original in design and don't be afraid, it is genuine gold!!!
Montenegro Arts Suveniri (suveniers): Something to remind you when you are back home
As the name tells you this is the place for suvenier buy. Little paintings, crafts, Montenegrian hats, and god knows what else. It also have some not very nice of the work of art items but you can always digg in for something sutible.
As typical tourist destination there are few souvenirs shops in the old town where you can buy your items as well as there is small market square with stalls in the old town where you can find all sort of stuff dating back to the old communist time. I notice also some fashion shops around but haven’t checked those.
The Serbian Orthodox Church Shop: Icons and other religious items
Here is something different, the Orthodox Church shop. My favorite things in the shop are lovely icons. Some of them are hand painted on the wood panels. It realy can be something that you can take home to be the memory of your stay in Serbia nd Montenegro.
