Favorite thing: I was asked several times by VT fellows about ATM mashines in Montenegro. They can be found in the majority of the towns. I saw one in H.Novi that accepts VISA cards, I think that more of them exist, but i am not certain. This one I saw in Njegoseva street.

Favorite thing: I would warmly advise everybody that coms to H. Novi to get familiar with a place before coming. The broshures and prospects of the town can not always be found. However, the things seem to change for the better. This year the broshures were printed in several languages in 20.000 copies, but I am not sure if it is going to be the practice.

Favorite thing: This is not a natural sandy beach, but still it is awesome. Not the beach itself, but the surroundings. Located beside the hundreds years old olive trees, with a cosy restaurant with delicious food it is the ideal place to spend a relaxed beach day. The parasoles and the chairs can be hired. You can have a refresment on the beach itself or in the cool-shade restaurant virtualy two steps away. It also is in easy reach by boat. Everything that was writen in previous tip about the transport can be applyed to this one too. In fact those 2 beaches are very close to each other and are less than 5 min. by foot. You can check them both and decide where to spend a day.

Favorite thing: The easiest way to reach this beautiful beach is by boat ( it would be too long drive by car). There are the organized boat transfers from the most of H.Novi beaches. It is a short ride (about 15 minutes), DON´T MISS IT. The boats run frequently, but make sure to find out when is the last boat for the return.

Favorite thing: Some sandy beaches can also be found in the town but they are far less preety than the once out of it. Most of them are private Hotel beaches. It would be a real pity not to go to the ½real sandy beauties ½ that Montenegro is very rich of.

Favorite thing: I am not very fond of the beaches in the town itself, but some hotels have their own private beaches that are much nicer than the public ones.
Most of the beaches are man made of concrete. The rocky once can be found too. Howeever, if you are after the nice sandy beaches, yes, there are plenty of them in easy reach from the town.

Favorite thing: Here are some suggestions for the one day trips while in H.Novi. Visit Ostrog Monastery, or Ada Bojana in Ulcinj or go on "off the road mountain jeep safari". You can find all the informations in this travel agency. It is called DAS and it is situated on the main road towords Hotel Plaza.

Favorite thing: I miss the english words to describe all kinds of trees, plants and flowers that can be found here. . I will mention only few of them:different kinds of palms, cactuses, bogumvilias, orange and lime trees….
Lots of various species arrived from all over the world, brought by the sailors of Herceg Novi. The most famous tree is mimosa and people from H.Novi celebrate it every February .

Favorite thing: I'm an early riser - even on vacation and in a different time zone, I am up before dawn, when it is still dark. During that time, I walk or run and explore my surroundings.
I wasn't the only early riser in Herceg-Novi. I was surprised to see how early the shop owners started working. Before dawn, I'd come across many of them setting up their fruit and vegetable stands, setting up tables and chairs at restaurants or washing their flagstone patio floors.

Favorite thing: If you are driving south from Croatia, Herceg-Novi, along with neighboring Igalo will be the first major town you will reach. From Herceg-Novi you can drive all around the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska).
The drive takes some time, but it shouldn't be missed. The towns are charming and the scenery is dramatic. Imposing mountains drop directly into the sea.
Fondest memory: Gasoline and deisel in Montenegro were extremely inexpensive - at least to this Californian.
With low prices like you see in Montenegro, you won't mind at all filling up your gas tank, even if you are filling up two tanks.
Discovering I had a full tank of gas is one of my fondest memories...
