The trip to the Ostrog Monastery is quite a challenged. I was traveling in two direction from Nikšić and from Cetinje. It was organised a minibus for 17 person.
I dint drove but I am found out following information regarding how to get to the Ostrog Monastery.
If you go from Niksic then you go to Bogetić village, about 2km, then you live main road and go about 12 km trough narrow road up to the cliff to the lower level of Monastery, then about 2-3 km up to the upper level of Monastery.
From Herceg Novi it has a two main direction. Around the Bay, through Risan then climb up the road from Trebinje going to Niksic and Podgorica, and finally the Ostrog. All in all, about 120km to the Monastery.
And you have way over near Budva and Podgorica to Niksic, a total of about 145km to the Monastery itself.
The third option is to go to Kotor, and the Lovćen mountain through Njegus and Danilovgrad to the Monastery, don't know how far is it.

Niksic can not be reached by plane or by train, but only by car or by bus. Therefore the most of the visits to Niksic starts and ends at Main Bus Station. Just a few years ago it was awful, so the first impression of Niksic used to be quite disappointing. Fortunately, now it is appropriate new building, with nicely decorated interior, cosy waiting rooms, several shops and all other usual facilities. New Main Bus Station turned travels to and from Niksic into quite normal thing.
