I flew to Podgorica from Düsseldorf in Germany and left the country on the same way with Montenegro Airlines.
I got the best price for this return flight on http://www.ebookers.com/.
Montenegro has two international airports: One is located in Tivat at the Bay of Kotor and the other one is in Podgorica. The latter one is called Aerodrom Podgorica and has the IATA airport code: TGD which was derived from the city's former name Titograd.
The current passenger terminal was opened in 2006 and has all conveniences which you would expect from a modern airport.
The airport is situated about 10 km south of Podgorica near the suburb of Golubovci. Please also read my tip "From the airport to the city centre by taxi".

I was able to fly directly from Zurich, Switzerland, to Podgorica in Montenegro with Montenegro Airlines. It's amazing that such a small country has its own airline. The plane was quite dated but the flight was very agreeable. The price was alright too for Swiss standards. I booked through ebookers Switzerland as they were a little cheaper than the airline itself.
Flying down the Dalmatian coast and turning into Montenegro, I had a great view of the coastal mountains and Lake Skadar. Unfortunately, I didn't have a window seat.
Podgorica airport is a small modern affair with a not so helpful information counter.

At this time (2008) getting from Podgorica airport anywhere requires taking a taxi. The catch is that there are not always taxis at the airport. When you arrive, if there are no taxis you can ask the information desk to call one (if there is anyone working - late night there will not be). If there are cars, but no drivers, then go to one of the cafes. The drivers are likely sitting there. Ask the waiter who is a taxi driver. The fare to the city center is 15 euro during he day and 17 at night. If you want to hire a taxi to Budva it should be 40 euro. This is a very practical option for groups of 3-4 people.

Podgorica has a small International Airport.
The most people get to Podgorica from Belgrade since there are very few international flights. Montenegro has its own flighing company : "Montenegrian Airlines". The other option is JAT ( Yugoslavian Aerotransport), The Serbian flighing company.

The best and safest way is by some of the tourist buses, which is my recommendation to you. There are many travel agencies that have such arrangements. Another possible way is by renting a car.

If coming by car, what I would not recommend if inexperienced driver, be extremely careful when driving the last part of the road (8 km). It is quite scary! Many of you would think it’s very, very, very narrow one-way road. Well, it’s not. It’s a two-way road and those who know it, might be driving a little faster. However, no accident has ever occurred at this part of the road. St. Vasilije keeps us safe.

When coming by car, drive for 45 KM (28 miles) from Podgorica toward Niksic. When you see a traffic sign that says “Ostrog”, take a right and just follow the road.

There is an old and still used train line from the coast of Montenegro to Podgorica and then to Belgrade, but it runs mornings and evenings with less than confortable cars.
Bus connections are more frequent, the scenery is still spectacular and the tickets inexpensive but avoid them if you have a weak heart:
- We counted 56 roadside memorials dedicated to dead relatives- victims of car accidents the first hour of the trip from Podgorica to Nis...
Travel by land is anyway the most environmentally friendly way of getting to know the world, but there are times where air travel becomes expedient. The least we can do when we do travel using such low-fare, budget schemes is to try to be accountable for the potential damage we do to the environment and compensate for the adverse effects by also buying a "climate ticket".

To be updated soon with up to date info.
Was here 9 days ago and took the 22.00
night train to BELGRADE. Couchettes cost
10 Euro each and good to buy in advance.
The train comes from Bar and good if you
want to arrive in Belgrade in the mornig.
Bad if you want to arrive on time at 06.05
to catch the 6.45 to Budapest because we rolled
into Belgrade at 8 am and the next train to Budapest
is in the evening at 22.00 arriving at Budapest Keleti
at around 7am...
