Where nature was born
Favorite thing: Sveti Stefan is maybe the best , fancy place in Montenegro.
Fondest memory: All of you who like fkk beaches, visit beach crvena glavica. It is near the main beach, you can reach this place through the sea, if you swimm to the south, or from the main road via camping centre crvena glavica! The best place to fell adriatic, to drink spring water, to take your cloth off, and spend time with your dear person...
Favorite thing: If you're not hapy with the big, pebbled public beach, maybe you can seek satisfaction in some hudden cove, there are many around the island, but difficult to reach (climbing back up is a tough part! :))
Favorite thing: The island is filled with luch Mediterranean vegetation - palms, pines, olives, all kinds of cacti, beautiful flowers (especially the violet ones that I never remember their name!) and much more! With the sea behind, it's a real paradise!
Favorite thing: All the rooms are equipped with various "tools" for relaxation! Just sit comfortably in one of the swinging chairs or beach beds and relax! After all, this is a place just to relax! Or write your latest novel... :)
Favorite thing: Villa 118 is very well protected and guarded, but even so, you can sneak in and gaze from quite proximate vicinity. But I'm afraid only when it is not occupied, when there are the guests, it's a real bastion!
Favorite thing: Sometimes you'll find little squares around the island, which used to be gathering places for the settlers of the islet, and nowadays are just an ornament in the hotel. Sometimes there can be additional features, like wells where they picked up water in old times.
Favorite thing: Since Sveti Stefan used to be a fishermen's village, there are also numerous paths that they really used to go to their houses, and since it's a hilly island, it's full of stairs leading to different corners of the island, with inevitable palm trees...
Supposedly a dinner place
Favorite thing: Again, nobody around... Originally it was planned for a restaurant and evening live music, but even if it happened in the past, it doesn't happen anymore. And the chairs and tables are broken or rusty!!!!
But it looks wonderful, doesn't it? What a potential!
Favorite thing: An ideal place to enjoy the afternoon sun, with a nice drink. Pity that it's closed. :)) I told you, the place is not 5*. Half of the facilities are out of order, not working or in bad conditions! But you can bring your own drink and sit to relax and enjoy your own time because you are guaranteed to be alone, nobody will be there!
Favorite thing: The island has its own casino, but don't look for shiny lights of Las Vegas, it is hidden inside the old Medietrranean stone house over which the poison ivy grows... Watch out not to get poisoned inside! ;)
Favorite thing: The big majority of Sveti Stefan guests are snobs. Newly rich people, mafia and fancy pompous "beasts". If that doesn't put you off, or if you are one of them, then you're going to have a great time! ;-)
NOTE: I do not find myself to be a snob, but nonetheless I put this picture of myself featuring because this tip is about PEOPLE. I was just a passer by who wanted to see this thing as well. :-)
The photo was taken near the pool, overlooking cliffs on the side of the island facing the open sea.
By the pool
Favorite thing: Well, the view might be lovely, but the service is far away from classy 5 star that Sveti Stefan pretends to be. And it's not just for the pool, but anything else. I have never been a guest of the hotel, but in the sightseeing tour I did I could see that it's not worth more than 2 stars, except for the extrenal outlook of the Mediterranean village. The rooms, service and facilities are falling apart!! Now, if I think better, i wonder should i put this under warnings&dangers or turist traps?! Well, let it be here for a while...
Favorite thing: Around the island there are many beautiful terraces where you can sit and take a break with coffee or whatever else. All of them are overlooking the sea. But I guess that is sufficient to say. This one is near the entrance/exit...
Favorite thing: Before crossing the narrow sandy passage to arrive to the island of Sveti Stefan, there is this sort of a park, a decorated green area for taking a stroll or relaxing a bit, and behind there is a mini shopping center, with a few exclusive and very pricy shops, as well as a hair dresser, a restaurant and I can't remember what else.
The church of Sveti Stefan
Favorite thing: If you walk behind the church of Sveti Stefan, you arrive to the cliff, where from you can have a very good view to the exclusive Villa 118, and you can spy on its snob guests :))) You can always pretend you're taking a photo of the church! :)
Kidding! :) I don't want to inspire voayeurism! :)))
