During an afternoon in Tivat in May 2012, we stopped off for drinks and snacks at Ricotta Cafe.
This pleasant cafe, with a handful of outdoor tables beneath a couple of large parasols, is located on the quiet square of Trg Kulture, just a few minutes walk inland from the seafront promenade of Oblala Marsala Tita.
It was a gloriously sunny afternoon and we were happy to be sitting outside, people watching and enjoying cold drinks.
I ordered a Nik Gold beer (1.70 Euros for a 330ml bottle); fizzier than a standard Niksicko beer, but I'd have been happy drinking any sort of cold beer at the time! Besides, a local Nik beer was far more appealing than the other options...Becks, Heineken and Bavaria.
Emma had a sparkling mineral water (0.40 Euros) and we studied the menu's selection of pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, cakes and ice cream sundaes.
Slane Palacinke - Price: 3.50 Euros
A couple of pancakes filled with ham and cheese (but no olives as mentioned in the menu description), topped with sour cream, mayonnaise and tomato ketchup and served with pickled gherkins.
Emma had already finished her pancakes before my dish arrived. It was perhaps the most slowly prepared ice cream sundae in history (I waited about 45 minutes for it, despite there being only a few other customers)...but it was just about worth the wait:
Banana Split - Price: 3.00 Euros
A large banana sliced in half and topped with blue (bubblegum flavoured?) and yellow (vanilla flavoured) ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a blue cocktail umbrella and a mini yellow and blue Sweden flag. I'm not sure if we'd given the waitress the impression that we were Swedish, but she proudly presented me with the carefully prepared blue and yellow sundae!
A pleasant pavement cafe for pancakes, ice creams, sandwiches and drinks.
I am repeting myself, almost in every restautrant tips in pages related to ex Yugoslavia I put one about BUREK. Burek is pie made from homemade filo pastery with different filings. It is definitely must try. It is almost the local custom here.
Cosy little restaurant. Nice place to have a drink, snack or the proper meal. They serve breakfast as well. I had only the toast sandwich and coffee. It was made just the way I like it. They hve a terrace but when I was there, it was closed due to the bad weather.
This is the nice place on the main promenade. They have a good choice of pizzas. It is also a good spot just for the coffee ot beer. The Ice Creams are delicious too. Enjoy the view overlooking the sea and people walking by.
The best pizza I had here was "Roma". Suprised?, lol

Favorite Dish: Pelinkovac
This place was always busy. The burgers were great, and you could sit, eating them, overlooking the water!
