We ended up in here because I was hungry and hot and just had to eat something after our journey by bus from Podgorica and before looking for accomodation.
A friendly place where we were definitely the only tourists.
The menu comes in Montenegrin and Albanian language but we did recognize a few dishes. So, I ordered Poulet (chicken) filet with French fries at Euro 4.00. A small bottle of Ice Tea cost Euro 1.00 and mineral water 80 cent.
We sat on the lower level of the small outside terrace in the shade.

One evening we were lucky to get a table of a good view at this location at the Mala Plaza which is also brilliant for people watching.
I opted for Spaghetti Napolitana which where great but somewhat on the spicy side for my taste. They cost Euro 4.00. Soft drinks were Euro 1.50.
As in all places in Ulcinj that we visited service was friendly and attentive but very busy.

The Caffe-Pizzeria Plaza is located along the beachfront of Mala Plaza, Ulcinj's city beach. In the peak season you are lucky to get a table in the first row with a good view of the the street where in the evening everyone is promenading up and down. Excellent place for people watching.
We were just early enough to grab such a table. The "Plaza" offers a variety of drinks and pizza but also other dishes.
Favorite Dish: I ate a yummy pizza "Prociutto" for Euro 4.50 which was very yummy. A natural lemonade (limunada) cost Euro 1.50 and a beer also Euro 1.50.

They charge for things you do not order. The food is good, but be prepared to pay more than what you expect (eg. when the menu says 20euro per kg fish they charge you for 750g although it is obvious that the fish was only 400-500g. They said the potato, and garnish is an extra charge. Also, they gave us salad, and when we told them we did not order it, they said it was included with the fish... but then we were charged for it when the bill came! It was very annoying fighting about the bill, and even after we told them that we didnt order the salad, they agreed to take it off, but they then came back with the altered bill which had the salad removed but was not added up correctly as to overcharge us again! Very dodgey characters here, we would not recommend this place. In hindsight we would have gone to Teuta 1 after reading a good review, but their prices seemed abit higher. But if they're more honest, it may have well been cheaper.

Favorite Dish: The favourite dish is called burek. It is made of filo pastry stuffed with cheese or meat. Goes very well with yogurt. It is filling, fast and cheap. Long live the BUREK! Bulgarian version is called banitza.

Ristorante Ponte is also a very nice restaurant. There were several cooks in the kitchen. They have a great choice of freshly caught fishes : gilt head sea bream (orata in Serbian, kocë in Albanian), sea bass (brancin in Albanian). However, they did not weight our choice in front of us (which they did at Durante's)…

Favorite Dish: Among other dishes of grilled fish, they have an excellent corba (thick fish soup).

The first time we went to Durante Restaurant, the waiter asked us where we came from. When I answered ''from France'', he said (in Italian) ''oh, the chef is French'' and he brought us to the chef. ''The chef is French'' meant actually ''the chef is a Montenegrin that has worked in France and speaks French''. The chef spoke indeed a very good French and was very happy to have French customers !
The chef grilled the fishes on a large metal sheet, brushed them with oil, turned them upside down, seasoned them and it was finally veeeerrry yummy !
Favorite Dish: More at Durante restaurant

On the bill, it is written Restaurant Teuta while on the napkins, it is written Restorant Teuta.
We had only a light meal with cheese (Chiss sir) for 3 € and a salad of octopus (salata od hobotnice) for 6 € and several fresh beers (1.5 € the large ones)
The food was excellent, the view superb on the sea and the waiter very helpful. I recommand.

This photo shows the entrance of the restaurant in the street that climbs into the old city. There is an old grape that has its roots on the left but that go across the road and develops on the right (enlarge)

We have not been to Restaurant Kalaja but the card was about the same than restaurant Teuta. The view from the terrace seems to be a little narrower.
