One thing that is nice about a large central public area such as Trg Republike is that you can hold free public events. This was a music & dance festival for the "International Decade for a Culture of Peace". We saw them setting up earlier and just happened to walk by during the performance!

I HAD A GOOD TIME AT THIS PLACE, AND I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF IT. I DO REMEMBER THAT IT IS DOWNTOWN VERY CLOSE TO THE SCENE OF THE TRAGIC DEATH OF SERBIA'S LATE PRIME MINISTER ZORAN DJINDJIC.
THAT ASIDE, IT IS A NICE CLUB WITH DESCENT STAFF AND REASONABLY PRICED DRINKS.
I HOPE YOU LIKE TURBO FOLK, BECAUSE I WAS THERE 3 TIMES ON THE WEEKENDS AND AS IS TYPICAL IN MANY BELGRADE CAFES/ BARS, TURBO FOLK IS THE ORDER OF THE EVENING
IF ANYONE IN BEOGRAD SEES THIS TIP, PLEASE E-MAIL ME THE NAME OF THE PLACE.
Update: Silly me, the bar's name is "Braveheart"... just like the movie. Just by looking at the ppicture next to the band, I guess you could have figured that out.
This bar is downtown near the federal buildings in the winter months, but when the weather warms, they move to the Danube and become "splavovi". This is a much better summer location.
Dress Code: NO DRESS CODE, BUT THE WOMAN IN THIS TOWN DON'T LIKE A MAN THAT DOESN'T DRESS IN EXPENSIVE CLOTHS OR CARRY A NICE MOBILE PHONE. SAD FOR ME BECAUSE I RARELY DRESS TO IMPRESS UNLESS I AM AT WORK... WHERE THE SUIT AND TIE THING IS THE NORM. AND I CERTAINLY DIDN'T SPEND A TON OF DINARS ON MY CRAPPY SEIMANS MOBILE PHONE WHILE THERE. (strike two)

I have been in here several times. Not a bad place. It has kind of a "Cracker Barrel" theme to it. You know, a huge pair of Levi’s jeans, some cowboy memorabilia and some wanted posters. I guess it’s really a mock up of a John Wayne style saloon, but with early 90’s American music.
The first time I went here was by myself. Of course, I sat at the bar like every other American… but I soon found out that only us boorish statesiders do that. We just lack culture and charm I guess. Oh well, I’m proud to be a boor spouting course rancor.
I had some pretty good times here. It comes with my stamp of approval and recommendation… as if you care.
Dress Code: No dress code, but if you expect to get lucky with the woman... dress for success.
I have no game... I don't even pretend. I'd just go in an old T-shirt and shorts (weather permitting of course).

“Skalar” is located on Sava River, on Sava Key, in the row of other rafts. Small, splendid raft with a good music. I had a feeling that the people in it know each other ‘cause they look at us as someone who came first time.

As soon as you enter Bollywood you are put at ease by the jazzy/cultural lounge tunes floating around. The drinks are what you would expect... just less expensive.
Dress Code: I saw what looked like quite a few students there, but in Belgrade the women seem to dress rather well, even for casual occaisions. Jeans and sneakers are probably permitted; I just don't think the girls would dress like that anyway. As for the guys: didn't notice.

Lot of boats, or better say rafts, are parked at Danube Key behind hotel "Jugoslavija". They are restaurants, pancakes restaurants, dancing bars or coffee bars. During the summer, they are full of young people. In the night, some of them has live music.

The most relaxed bar on Skadarska has a brick vaulted ceiling and lots of standing space to hold revelers on weekend evenings. A youngish crown sips espressos at the tables in the back before hitting the cocktail menu, listing Fuzzy Navels, B52's and Brazilian Nights.
Opened daily from 11:00 to 01:00.

Gallop in and throw down years riding gear to hang at the bar of this popular Western-style bar. Saloon is decked out with plenty of wood, cartwheels and cozy corners for hoisting beers, whiskey or less manly drinks.
Opened daily from 11:00 to 02:00 except Sundays (from 17:00 to 02:00).

Enter through a gritty hallway and descend the stairs to find a completely surprising modern (cubist...) bar in Mondriaan colours. "Scena" doubles as an Italian restaurant, with pizzas and pastas on the menu, but mainly is for downing beers and cocktails while chattering with other beautiful people. Changing photograph exhibitions, decorate the walls.
Opened everyday from 12:00 to 01:00 except on Saturdays (from 12:00 to 05:00) and Sundays (from 17:00 to 05:00).

I heard that this street would be close for traffic soon. In the beginning, there were only one or two coffee bars and now, you can not count. During the day it is look like any Belgrade street, but in the night you will hardly find a place for parking. And why "Silicon Valley"? You have to see. It's fool of amazing women and lot of them has silicon implementations. Or they not. Maybe it is a just nature present for them. And a men's eyes, too. Check out.
