    Something for every occasion

by Beograd Updated Mar 22, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Since there are many things to see and do, you'll need different things. Take along something comfy for long walks around the city, but don't forget to bring something for the wild night life in Belgrade as well. Anyway, don't worry, because whatever you forget to bring along, you can buy it in here, and probably much cheaper than back home (if you are from EU)

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: In spite of what most people think, my country is not like some third world country, and you can find everything you need. You can find a pharmacy (but I hope that you won't need it) literaly on every corner.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Everyday Essentials... though, you can find everything in Belgrade.

Photo Equipment: I bring a regular 35mm, a Digital, and a Video Camera.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Play it by ear... you can get everything in Belgrade... so if you forget something, no need to panic.

Miscellaneous: Just be sure to bring money!!! Actually, I was in Belgrade for more than one month the last time, and only spent $500 US... it can be done if you don't have to pay for a hotel etc.

    Belgrade climate

    by Jeca011 Written Jan 20, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Belgrade have continental climate. Autumn can be very warm (Indian summer). Summer is very hot and temperature can goes to 40 C. Spring is short and rainy. But Belgrade has characteristic southeastern and eastern wind called “Kosava”. This wind in winter can chill air so you will think it’s about –100 C. So think about all these when you packing your clothes for your coming.

Filter coffee, if you can not live without it

by Prasnjavi Updated Apr 8, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Miscellaneous: You can find to buy filter coffee, filters, and coffee machines but if you try to order it in a coffee bar or restaurant, waiter will, probably, look at you strange. We use to drink "black" coffee at our homes, and espresso or Nescafe (hot or cold) outside. Somewhere, you will find "Irish" or "Ice" coffee, but be ready to accept espresso at the end.

  • Cooking in Belgrade

by zsuzsika Written Feb 25, 2003

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Your favorite trusted aspirin

Miscellaneous: SPICES: if you plan on staying for a while, pack your spices so you can cook. Many standard ones in the US can't be found in grocery stores. That way, you can cook until you get used to and explore the ones that are available.

    Packing List

by Biljana Written Aug 24, 2002

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Sports bags are the best for this trip. While standard luggage is great for wheeling around airports it is rather impractical in a city like Belgrade where many places don't have elevators and the streets are rather uneven.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If travelling during the summer season cool clothing is a must. Temperatures reach as far as 40 degrees Celsius.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You should be able to find everything you need in Belgrade, but here's a list of a couple 24 hour pharmacies just in case.
Prvi maj,,, Srpskih vladara St. 9, #324-0533
    ,,Sveti Sava,,, Nemanjina St. 2, # 643-170
    ,,Zemun,,, Glavna St. 34,# 618-582

Photo Equipment: One should bring a lot of film, because there's plenty to photograph. Film is expensive to buy. The right batteries (ex. lithium) aren't are available only in specialty stores for photography, so bringing extras will save you time.

Miscellaneous: Mosquito repellent is a must during summer time. Also during the hot and boiling summers a nice little portable fan is a lifesaver.
