Kafe Palacinkarnica Amica opened its doors in the spring of 1995. It was established by Mirjana Boskovic and her daughter Larisa. Mirjana gave up her career as an architect to persue her passion for crepes. The mother and daughter team spent a long time agonizing over the name for their creperie. Finally they settled on the name friend, Amica. Years have passed and Amica has become an integral part of Skadarlija. They even expanded and opened another location "Amica 2" in the city centre.
Favorite Dish: Amica offers a variety of crepes, savory and sweet. The savory crepes are first filled with ingredients and rolled and then fried in batter for a cripsy crunch taste. My favorite crepe is Cokolinka-a chocolate filled crepe.
Some highly recommended savory crepes are:
~ Rusinka (savory) - contains Russian Salad
~ Gljivinka - stuffed with mushrooms

Best place to go for a nice dinner with live Serbian music in Skadarska street , better known as Skadarlija .There are lot of restaurants there like DVA JELENA , Skadarska 32 tel. 32 42 994(open from 8 am till midnight ),TRI SESIRA, Skadarska 26, tel. 32 34 834 (open from 9 am till midnight )
Favorite Dish: While you are in Belgrade it is good to try some tasty stuff like CEVAPCICI (fingers made of minced meat ), KARADJORDJEVA SNICLA , VESALICE , RAZNJICI ( skewered meat )… all made of grilled meat, PRSUT ( smoked ham), SARMA ( minced meat and rice rolled in cabbage leafs . The national drink in Serbia is SLIVOVICA, plum brandy ( Ithink that is the only thing we are exporting to the USA :) Don’t drink too much LOL it is very strong! But you should probably know that in Serbia almost every one drink beer: )

Well, Srpska Kafana is one of the best traditional restaurants in Belgrade.
We discovered its charms , puerly by chance, and quickly become one of our favorite places to eat out when we are in Belgrade.
The atmosphere in the restaurant has the feel of the Belgrade between the wars. With this well loved bohemian feel to it and local hangout for the people of the neighborhood.
Old mismached chears, on old scarred tables ,covered with chekered tablecloths. The feel is like you stepped into the '30s Belgrade.
But the food is to die for. Many famous people of the Balkand visit the place and there are two walls where people can sign their names. It's funn to look at it as you waiting to be seated.
The one thing about Srpska Kafana, I particulary liked is the live traditional Serbian music, and the fact that is never over crowded, and you can enjoy relaxed athmosphere, and not hurry with your food, and be gone. You can realy take your time and relax!!
Favorite Dish: I have had beef soup with maise Knoodles (Telecha chorba sa knedlama)
Deer Gulas, Beef gulas and more.
But whatever you order, you WILL enjoy it!!!
My favorite, the Chorba and Deer gulas.
There is a great selection of local Serbian vines, and of course rakija.
Lozovacha or Shljivovica, the choise is yours!!!!!!!!!!

One of the specialites I loved more in Belgrade was Burek. A roll of puff pastry with inside mushrooms, or meat or cheese, this has often been my breakfast and my afternoon break. It's easy to be found all over the centre in some small stalls.
Favorite Dish: Burek

This place was very close to hotel Majestic, so as I used to get up too late for the hotel brakfast, I started to enjoy their coffe.
Actually this is really one of the best espresso coffe I ever had, it's really short which not means a small cup full of coffe but some coffe in a small cup and creamy.
Their selection of sweets and pies is also great, definitly a place to reccomend.
Favorite Dish: Espresso.

Actually my first evening in Belgrade I tried to enter a few restaurants and and what surprised me was the fact that noone totally cared about me, not a good evening, not even a "what the hell do you want?", nothing. So I decided to stop in the first place where someone at least greated me. It has been the first time that I chosed a restaurant with this criteria, but I must admitt it worked really good. Orient express is a restaurant in the heart of Belgrade and their choice of food is really huge. I really had some of the greates dishes ever, and the staff was actually nice and helpfull in chosing food which may help.
Ofcourse I think this is probably more expensive than everage but anyway I never paid more than 16 euros.
Favorite Dish: Best dishes were: balcan steak which was composed by two slices of meat and inside them there were ham and cheese all covered with a mushrooms cream.
Orient express style which consisted in some small pieces of mozzarella cheese cooked inside a hamn slim served over really fresh grilled vegetables.

I visited "Barbaresco" in order to try the wines I had previously discussed about, at the wine shop "Vinodom" (see shopping tip).
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, willing to explain different flavours and qualities and recommend delicious accompanying cheese and ham varieties
Favorite Dish: I tried a rich and smelly Portuguese white wine: Verdelho
I purchased the Verdhelo for almost 10 EUR. According to price list, as follows:
casa bar - 0.125 lt: 340 RSD (approx. 3.5 EUR)
boca bar - 0.75 lt: 1700 RSD (approx. 17 EUR)
boca shop - 0.75 lt: 990 RSD (approx. 10 EUR)
