Could you ever say that this is the centre of an almost 3 million capital city? Well, it is. This restaurant is hidden in the wilderness of the confluence of Sava into the Danube, right on the corner, on the New Belgrade side. There is absolutely nothing urban anywhere near, it's in the mud, in the forest and reachable by wooden bridge over the soil constructed high up to resist the rise of the level of river water. Needless to say, it's a getaway spot for all those seeking relaxing atmosphere and escape from the urban crowds.

Nice, old fashioned restaurant "Stankom" is on very quite, hidden part of Kosutnjak forest in Belgrade. Very clean, traditional interior little bit stylish. Personnel are polite and professional. Green terrace is very attractive for the sunny days.
Favorite Dish: Traditional Serbian food, based on meat dishes (variety of recipes), soups, salads, breads and sweets.

Diners Club International Principal Club is the nice boat restaurant on the river Sava in Belgrade near the meeting point of Sava and Danube river. Nice ambience, food, selection of vines and cigars, live music... and unforgetable view from the river to the old Belgrade.
Favorite Dish: Steaks and nice selection of river and sea fishes. Nice selection of vines.

Que Pasa is a nice restaurant with a wide range of international cuisine, though counter to what its name suggests, the restaurant only offers two Mexican dishes. The service is excellent and the interior is well decorated and, generally, very pleasant. If you are tired of Serbian food and need a break for the night, this is a good option.
The restaurant also boasts a cigar humidor.
The restaurant is connected to the famous Alexandar Palace Hotel.
Favorite Dish: Risotto with Shrimp

The Peking Restaurant is the only Chinese restaurant in central Belgrade. It is just 50 meters off the main pedestrian street in the center of the city.
Peking Restaurant could be so much better than it is. Overpriced and with a menu largely consistent of semi-tasteless food, Peking Restaurant has a fairly nice interior, but that hardly makes up for its short-comings. I would strongly suggest avoiding this place, unless you are in desparate need of Chinese food.
Favorite Dish: The spring rolls were pretty good.

It may be a long ride east of the center but vegetarians and vegans, like I am, will greatfully make the pilgrimage to this excellent meat- free restaurant in the City of Carnivores, with a menu of delicately flavoured vegetables and fruits.
Favorite Dish: A dish called 'Surprise!'
Contains cereal, vegetables, mushrooms sejtag, dried sea vegetables, seeds.
Price: 690 Serbian DIN [=15 Eur]
Try the 100% natural juice [I enjoyed the Kiwi Juice].

Wow! This small restaurant is awesome! Maybe it's the live music, the friendly staff, or the excellent traditional Serbian food! Whatevere it is, Konuba is most certainly a visit.
We stayed there all night, enjoying the music, drink, and fantastic atmosphere!
Favorite Dish: Stuffed beef steak! Gotta try it!

On the famous Skadarska, Sesir Moj is a relatively classy eatery in luxurious seating, overloaded with hundreds of paintings. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is typical serbian, and our choice (made by a Serbian friend) of a 2 samplers (starters and meat) was easy to make, surprising in all aspects, and not disappointing. The starters included the traditional cheese and smoked ham, but also many other dishes which I can only describe through photo's. Charcoaled meats were of good quality. Our delicious desert was the nuts pie, like baklava but not heavily sweet.
So all good, but not on the cheap side for Belgrade: dinars 4,000 (including tip) for 3 people including beers but not wine - nevertheless worth it if you want to try out-of-the-ordinary Serbian food.

My friend and I ate lunch at Sendvic Bar Black one day during our visit to Belgrade in May 2007.
This unpretentious café and sandwich shop is located on Krusedolska, just across the road from the impressive St Sava’s Temple, quite a distance south of central Belgrade. This is an area of town that we probably wouldn’t have found ourselves in had we not chosen to walk to the Marakana stadium to watch Red Star Belgrade’s football match that afternoon.
We took a seat at an outdoor table on the street in front of the café and ordered bottled beers (MB Pils: 100 Dinars / 0.85 GBP for 330ml) from the extensive drinks menu.
The waiter told us that we’d have to go up to the counter at the neighbouring sandwich shop to order our food. This proved difficult with the ladies who were serving speaking no English at all (and us speaking no Serbian at all) – so we were reduced to the all-too-familiar “pointing at random unidentifiable foodstuffs” method or ordering.
I ended up with a ham, cheese and lettuce sandwich, a cheese and ham roll (which looked like a sausage roll when I pointed to it) and a custard filled pastry. The latter was so full of tightly packed custard that it weighed about the same as a house brick. This whole feast cost just 250 Dinars (approx. 2.00 GBP).
Good value sandwiches, pastries and drinks near St Sava’s Temple.

My friend and I ate at Biblioteka at lunch time on our first day in Belgrade during a trip to the city in May 2007.
Having travelled through Croatia and Bosnia over the course of the previous week, we had started to reach the stage where we had eaten enough cevapcici and other grilled meat dishes, and so we were looking for something a little more international.
We found Biblioteka on the busy main street of Terazije, and saw that it had a large menu board outside with pictures and descriptions (in Serbian and English) of all manner of international dishes. These included a large selection of sandwiches and salads, pasta dishes, pizzas, chicken, seafood, beef steaks and some very tempting cakes and ice cream sundaes.
We sat an at outdoor table on a hot and humid afternoon, seeking shade under the large green Tuborg-sponsored canopy. The friendly waiter, who spoke perfect English, took our order and told us a little about Belgrade.
The table mats featured an interesting historical photograph of “Terazije”. There was no date above the photograph, but I would hazard a guess that it was from the 1920s or 30s. Many of the buildings looked unchanged, but the road now has far more traffic.
As its name suggests, Biblioteka also has some sort of book connection. The interior appeared to house a bookshop or a small library, and we could see people sitting inside sipping coffee and reading books.
Favorite Dish: I opted for:
Spaghetti Bolognese - Cost 320 Dinars (approx. 2.60 GBP)
A fairly large plate of tasty spaghetti Bolognese topped with mozzarella and herbs. It was served without any accompaniment, but at such a low price I had no complaints about that. I suspect the spag bol tasted better for the fact that I was in desperate need of something other than cevapcici to eat!
Fruit Cup Biblioteka - Cost 230 Dinars (approx. 2.00 GBP)
A glass filled with fruit salad and topped with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce.
Lav beer (500ml, draught) - Cost 100 Dinars (approx. 0.85 GBP)
Mint tea - Cost 104 Dinars (approx. 0.90 GBP)
A glass of mint tea, with a teabag.
A large selection of good value international dishes on busy Terazije.
