At the end of the shopping street, just before crossing to Kalamegdan Fort can be found several stalls selling local crafts and souvenirs. What was striking and something that I really liked was the fact that none of them were the cheap, ugly, made-in-China stuff that can be found in practically all the tourist places in every big city in Europe.
I found one interesting stall selling pottery mugs in various shapes, and handpainted with local scenes in in "fairytale-style" art, if it may be called that. Very artistic, and in nice colour combinations too. One of these mugs, at the time i got it, cost something like 7 euros. On my mug is a sticker saying Design by Mirjana Doric.
It's good practice, if you should get a souvenir, to patronise the local artists and crafts. A small but meaningful way to support the local economy, native art, and what is authentically from that place -- even if they cost a bit more than the usual mass-produced artless stuff (the ubuquitous keychain, for example) passed off as souvenir.

Entering Kalemegdan Park there are a number of stalls set up selling Yugoslav and Serbian Miliatry memeorabilia. You can buy Yugoslav Army pins, military hats, patches, medals and lapel/hat badges. You can also buy old Yugoslav stamps, coins and notes. I couldn't resist buying a 50,000,000,000 dinar note from the height of Yugoslav inflation. For 1 euro I think it's a bargain!
What to buy: Yugoslav Currency - 50 billion dinar note
