There are several church owned stores in the city. They are rather neat because they sell jewellery, candles and lots of church related accessories. Most of the stuff they sell is handmade and rather unique.
What to buy: For the religious there are lots of religious relics they can buy, and for the not so religious their jewellery is of very good quality and it is rather inexpensive.
What to pay: Depending of what you buy the prices will vary. If you wish to buy a religious portrait (ikona) of a saint a good size and quality one will be around $100 US. That is how much I paid for the ikona shown in the photo. The ikona shown depicts Saint George, the patron saint of my family.

Knjez Mihailova is the most lavish shopping street in Belgrade.
You can find there fashion clothings, shoes, sportswear, houseware, books (mostly in Serbian), and toys.
For souveniers go to "Belgrade Window" (Beograd izlog) located at the corner of Trg Republike and Knjez Mihailova (opposite "Robna Kuca Beograd"). We could not find any other place to buy souveniers - t-shirts, baseball caps, beer mats, pens, wallets etc. bearing th name "Beograd".

There are a number of small shopping centers or "gallerias" in Belgrade's center. We visited these two. New Millenium is on the left, City Passage is on the right.
What to buy: There are an amazing number of shoe stores!!!!

Well, when I am in Belgrade I am mad of shopping even if I hate it at home. But it is caused by the hunting of new films on dvds, cds and other stuff like books, little alcohol bottles and so on. However, Jelena should tells the stories about my shopping. We have a great collection of little sample alcohol bottles at home so I got the idea to bring some from Belgrade as well. Not that we have not tried the local beverages but those little ones weren't interesting when you are there for the first time or so. But as a gift that should be very interesting, you should buy each for 20-30 dinars (maybe more now) and there is a great variety such as mentioned Pelinkovac or Lozovaca. Hehe and if you are smart enough you will let your Serbian friends to buy them :) that you don't look like notorious drinker...

Walking through Knez Mihailova Street, you will meet lot of people selling newspapers, maps, post cards… One of the best is in front of SANU, in the middle of the street. You can buy maps and guides on several world languages.

I know that you expect from me to write about shopping centers with souvenirs and clothes, but I simply couldn't avoid this. It is my favorite place for buying the food. I'm loosing my mind when I am in.
"Vero" is part of Greek chain of supermarkets "Veropoulos".
What to buy: As I am in love with Greece, I can not avoid their food in my daily nutriment. There you can find fresh Greek sheep yogurt, olives, olive oil, original Feta cheese and rest of Greeks products.

Most of the shops, restaurants… will receive any of credit cards. The most popular and most in the use are “VISA” and “MASTER CARD”. “DINERS” and “AMERICAN EXPRESS” are also in use but they don’t have ATM where you can take cash.
