They have a variety of local and international food for quite good prices. Also, they have a daily list with "workers menu" where you can get several dishes for special prices, if you don't mind less decorated dishes.
We weren't planning to go there, but a heavy rain shower caught us unprepared and forced us to search for a refuge, so we went to the nearest restaurant. We were very satisfied so we ate there every day.
Also, there is a nice terrace in the back under a big tilia tree (Tilia = Lipa).

I think that Salas in sbrija (serbian) means Farm in english...yeah it means that!!. Well Salas 137 is situated in front of town of Cenej, near Novi Sad. It has a picturesque appearance, they try to offer to the guest the spirit of forgotten times. What can you find here? Very good restaurant with deliciuos food from Vojvodina region (and also international food), also accomodation in little houses very well situated. It is also the head-office of the Riding Club "Jastreb" (very nice horses), Safari Club International and Golf Club "Novi Sad". As much exclusive it could sound...it isn't!!! At least the restaurant. We went there just to see how was a traditional farm in Vojvodina...and at first we were a little bit disapponted...cause it was something different than a normal farm (golf, restaurant, horses to ride, audi's and mercedes....), and we said: "oh my god, what a temathic park is that?!!" But well, maybe it is or not (i don't care now) the food was deliciuos. And the manager very very sympathic and helpfull. We arrived and then started to rain a lot, and we found 2 men running like us, trying to find some safe place. One of them was the manager...and started talking to us, asking for everything...and he was speaking spanish-italian-english...hehe was so admirable. He offered us to go to the restaurant, and give us very good advices of the food. Everything was PERFECT, and he did a lot of thins for us. Thank you Aleksandar ;). Ask for him if you have some problem there, i'm sure he'll be as helpful and good person as he was with us.
Favorite Dish: Everything is delicious!! Believe me...delicious and loooot of food. (i have no comission eh...hehe)

We really enjoyed in Barbara's food and national home made dishes. Small and nice restaurant in the city center opposite to Vojvodina parliament building. They have the best barbecue and national dishes and price are modest.
Favorite Dish: Pljeskavitza, steaks, and home made dishes.

This is my favourite restaurant in Novi Sad. It is very busy all day long, so it might be a good idea to make a reservation in advance. Service is always excellent, so i'm sure i'll be going back there again very soon.
Favorite Dish: Ummmmm... my favourite is chicken provansal, described in the menu as a chicken in a lovely sauce :)

Gusan (the gander) is very nice restaurant-pub in the centre of Novi Sad, near the Catholic Church. It is located in the spaceous cellar of the 19th century building, and here are some notes on the history of the building itself, presented in the Gusan menu: "This facility was built in 1830 in Classicism style, as one of the first four walk-ups in Novi Sad. On the font of the building used to be written: Property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, thus the citizens named this building the Property, which remains the name of be building today. This was one of the few buildings that remained intact during the 1849 bombing of Novi Sad. After razing of the City Hall the mayor's office was moved into his building from 1852 and stayed here until 1871, when it became house of the Big Court. During that period nine mayors ruled the city of Novi Sad, among them Svetozar Miletic and Stevan Baranovacki, and famous writers Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj and Jakov Ignjatovic also worked here as clerks. There were rumors that this facility was to become a prison. At be beginning of the 20th century, some of the famous professors, lawyers and painters used to live here… In the yard of the building was the one of the first photographer's studios in the town, and later the first cinema in town named Korzo. Nowadays in the cellar of this facility lives the first restaurant-pub named Gusan."
Favorite Dish: Gusan offers many kind of beer and very cheap but very good daily menu with the several dishes of Vojvodinian cuisine which we highly recommend.

Funny coincidence of W. Churchill and the restaurant owner result that city of Novi Sad has a Churchill restaurant. In the city center. Clean and nice (mix of neo classical and modern are little bit heavy to me). Excellent service.
Favorite Dish: Local, almost Hungarian dishes are really specialty. Gulash, paprikash...

Difficult to find a more typical restaurant, wooden interior, with space for groups. Excellent meats, enormous helpings, certainly not for people on a diet. Good selection of local wines. When I was there, I loved the background music by Jorde Balasevic, a famous Novi Sad singer, I now have his CDs.
