The sports and business centre “Vojvodina” is one of the biggest centres of this kind in Europe. It is widely known as SPENS, and it was named so after the 1981. World Table Tennis Championship which was held there. Its total area is 200.000 m² (239.200 square yards), the area of the stadium “Vojvodina” is 32.483 m² (38.850 square yards), and the area of the usable space for indoor sports activities is 46.319 m² (55.397 square yards). The centre provides conditions for workout and competitions in basketball, volleyball, handball, water polo, table tennis, boxing, judo, karate, hockey, swimming, bowling, shooting, ice skating, wrestling, sambo, football, tennis, field hockey and rhythmic gymnastics. 70 practice grounds and 20 fighting grounds can be used simultaneously. Apart from having numerous sports facilities and a rich sports season, SPENS is also a famous business and entertainment centre. It has over 150 shops, cinemas, and an entertainment park for chTHE BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION: 1979.

Area of the hall: 9.309 m2 (11.133 square yards); ice rink occupying 2.370 m2 (2.834 square yards), rows of seats 2.165 m2 (2.589 square yards).
Capacity: east rows - 1.030 seats. Comfortable for watching hockey, ice skating competitions; possibility of recreational activities.
The ice rink works 7 months a year (September - March). In the meantime the hall is used for concerts, conferences and exhibitions.
Sound system, lighting, sports equipment and setting, dressing rooms, ventilation, spacious dressing rooms adapted to fit skaters’ needs, an ice skate sharpener, a bar, special ticket offices, monitoring by means of an internal TV system.

Sport and business centre "Vojvodina" was built in 1981 for the world Table Tennis championship which is why people from Novi Sad still call it SPENS, as that was the abbreviated title of the Championship.
This place also has lots of shops and places to eat. And 2 sports halls, Olympic size swimming pool, bowling alley, and lots of other sports facilities.

SInce entire Vojvodina is extremely flat, Novi Sad is IDEAL for cycling. You can sit on your bike and without an effort cruise around the town and further on your bike. The most beautiful route is by the Danube of course. Nowadays they're building bicycle paths around entire town.

The largest sports centre in Vojvodina.It covers the space of 85,000 m2. Spens is combination of trading and sports object . It has Great Hall with 7000 seats and a Small Hall, with 1500 seats, an indoor ice-rink, an indoor Olympic swimming pool, table tennis, boxing and judo, a bowling alley and a shooting club, outside tennis court, an additional football pitch and a stadium of the Football Club "Vojvodina".
