Everyone gets their picture taken with these little old ladies by the lake shore, and obviously I wasn't going to make an exception. These diminutive statues, on their pint sized park bench, are a popular new attraction.

I don't think I would have noticed this if it hadn't have been such a particularly hot day. It was touching 40 centigrade (over 100F) during the day. Even when this shot was taken, close to sunset and well past 8pm, it was still registering 33!

To commemorate the completion of Palic's lakeside resort, the people built this elegant memorial fountain, which fits in perfectly with the promenade and the art nouveau buildings along the lake shore.

Lake Palic is a wide, shallow natural body of water not dissimilar to its sister, Lake Balaton, on the other side of the Hungarian border, although it's quite a bit smaller, and amazingly even shallower at a two meter average. The waters are languid and cast a cool, lazy breeze over the shore, making this a place where Serbs escape to when it gets hot in July and August (and it does get very hot down here).

Expressing an elaborative decorative style seen all over this part of Serbia, and also Hungary, the Women's Beach was once exactly that: a Women only Bathing Area. Now it's a famous old building in the town, and home to a relaxing little restaurant out on the boardwalks, a place where people go to enjoy the sun, water or often just a game of cards.

The Palic lake (Palicko jezero) is a popular summer destination, especially for young people. However, I saw it in late autumn and to me it looked cold, lonely and sad. Or maybe it was just the moment :)

A lot of old buildings are not renovated yet. Pity. They really look nice. Almost all of them are from Austro-Hungarian time. With some ideas they can be use for a lot of things. I don't know what this building was used to be but it's looks nice.

Very nice small ZOO with some interesting places for the animals (such as monkey island). This elephant had his show for visitors.
