Skiing in Kosovo
People always say they ski at Brezovica but it is actually Mount Sara where the skiing takes place. Brezovica is the name of the small village that you pass through to get to the ski lodges :)
Skiing in Kosovo is quite fun in the winter. There is one main ski lift that almost always works and a couple smaller lifts that function when there is enough snow. The ski lifts begin working around 9-10am and shut down around 3pm.
When you want to take a break and the weather is good, head to Jakson cafe which is really just a trailer with an attached. Try the hot spiced wine and a hot dog if you are hungry.
Pizzaria Tina is also a great place to relax and get a bite to eat. It is located along the cabins at the base of the ski slopes.
Equipment: Equipment can be purchased or rented in Kosovo. There are a couple different shops that rent equipment on the mountain. The one located at the top of the Tram in the big hotel building is the one I normally use.
Equipment rental is 10 Euros a day for skis, boots, and poles. It is possible to rent snowboards.
Wear thick socks and water-resistant pants & gloves are suggested if you are beginning :) Good ski pants and jackets can be purchased in Pristina at Minimax or Melodia PX near the entrance of Film City.
You will have to pay a couple Euros for the car to enter the skiing area at a small checkpoint. I think it was 5 Euros per car.
