Sport Maniacs

by Beograd

Our country is very well known for it’s sport achievements. The most popular sports are football, basketball, lately walleyball… But we are also familiar with extreme sports. If you don’t count skydiving which is present here since about 1910 (those of you who like this sport know that skydiving started before the first airplane was made, and Augusto Franchich jumped from the tower in Rijeka in the XIV or XV century and is considored as the Father of this sport), lately snowboarding, bungee, paragliding and all sorts of other sports that I don’t know names of are popular among young people. If you happen to be in Serbia, and feel like playing soccer or a b-ball, you’ll have no problems of finding a crew for it. Keeping up with them is another thing…

Basketball

by Aurorae

If there is something we are good at, that is basketball! We are current World and European champions, and in fact, we have been European champions permanently in the past decade, except for 1993 when we didn't participate, and 1999 when we were bombed by NATO.We also won the last two World Championships. :)(today's date: July 20th, 2003)

Volleyball

by Aurorae

And, one more sport we are great at - volleyball! We just won the silver medal in the World League, we always win a medal, and we play in the finals almost always. :)We won the Olympics in Sydney, many European and World Championships...

Water-polo

by Aurorae

Another sport we are very, very good at - water-polo! We just won the European championship, and at the moment we are competing at the world championship. We always win at least a medal, but most often they are gold, or silver. (today's date: July 20th, 2003
