On that place, the river Danube is a natural border between Yugoslavia and Romania. The rock with a head is on the Romanian side. That danube canyon is something you MUST SEE.I think you can find some organized tours to see all that has to bee seen. This place is not to be missed.

There are quite a few radioactive springs. Some of them are on the very tops of the mountain peaks.. Every one of these springs has more then 11.5 Mach units of radioactivity. There are some of the spas you can visit. Jošanicka Banja, Bogutovacka Banja, Lukovska Banja and Kuršumlijska Banja.Jošanicka Banja is used for treatment by bathing, drinking, gargling and inhaling.Lukovska Banja, a natural spa well know since the Roman age .
Djerdap:The park with the oldest geological history in Europe; -the longest composite valley in Europe, including three gorges, two kanyons, and three valleys; -the biggest and the oldest water -breakthrough in Europe, where the Danube is at its deepest and the narrowest; -the biggest natural history and archeological museum "in the open air" in Europe; -the biggest, oldest and best preserved refuge with the relict flora, fauna and vegetation; -the area with the greatest biodivesity within one ecosystem.
The Open Air Museum "Old Village" Sirogojno, a museum of traditional folk architecture, is bringing us back to the period of 19 -th century. In the museum programmes, special attention is payed to preserving and recuperating traditional trades. In the museum workshops copies of museum exhibits are being made and one can see the skills of potter's, cooper's, carpenter's, weawer's etc. There are special shops where products of old trades and copies of some traditional handicraft, medicinal herbs and teas....are being sold. One of the old houses has been transformed into a tavern and some smaller buildings are intended for living there.
Church of St. Djordje, founded by King Petar I Karadjordjevic in 1910.All inside walls are mozaique, and it is forbiden to take pictures there.Below the church is kripta, where are buried died members of Karadjordjevic dynasty.
The Convent Ljubostinja was founded by Princes Milica, it was built by master Rade Borovic between 1389. and 1406. By it’s architecture, this convent belongs to the School of Morava , which is rich in ornamentation , especially on the facades and around the widows .The frescoes are not well preserved , only few have remained prominent among them are the figures of Prince Lazar and Princes Milica, of Despot Stevan and his brother Vuk.
It was founded by prince Lazar Hrebeljanovic in 1375.By it’s architecture it belongs to the school of Morava .After battle on Kosovo , remains of died prince Lazar , were moved to this Monastery.
Downstream from Novi Sad, on the Danube, stands Sremski Karlovci, a museum-city of the 18th and 19th century Serbian culture with a considerable number of architectural monuments, archives and art collections.
