The Red Bank: Many choices for all taste buds

by chatskerries

The Red Bank is a seafood restaurant with a seasonal menu and steaks for the beef lovers. Excellent wine list is fairly long and reasonably priced. I choose red with steak.Over all great service and cosy atmosphere. I love fine dining so the bank is my favorite spot for a fine cooked meal. Save room for the fresh deserts which are yummy. You will leave full and very happy. Can't pick a favorite as I love both the seafood choices and Steak choices.

LA MEDINA: GASTRONOMIC SUPERHEROES

by DAO

I love these folks, I really do. They could not have made me feel more welcome, valued and looked after me. That was just the service. The food? Magnifique! La Medina is 1 of 5 different themed restaurants created by 2 geniuses named Dominica Colaianni and Olivier Felmann. Many people come by to laugh at some of the strange English translations on their outside menu board, but don’t stay to savour the wonderfully prepared food which makes this one of the best restaurants in Europe. So why Superheroes? I arrived at the restaurant quite late and in very casual clothes and boots. The restaurant next door refused to serve me. The waiter here at La Medina never blinked and greeted me like an old friend. Although cold outside, they agreed to seat me outside and my table was made up like I was royalty in a flash (pictured). My food was brought to me and was not only artful; it tasted out of...

Main ship restaurants: Cruise ship sittings

by CruiseMartyn

Many when booking a cruise on a ship with 2 dinner sittings are asked which sitting they would prefer. The usual choices are either 6:30 or 8:30. Sometimes sitting times are confirmed immediately but often not until close to the cruise departure date or even as late as arrival at the check-in desk. Everyone can't go on the same sitting so be prepared for not getting the sitting which you requested as it is a request to the cruise line and not a confirmed booking. However once on board you should make a visit to the dining room (or call from your room) and see if you can speak to the Maitre De. He might not be able to do anything for you on that particular day but, as many other people always swap around there is a fair chance you will be able to change at some point.Remember...if you don't ask you won't get!

THE OLD ORIGINAL BAKEWELL PUDDING SHOP: ENGLISH PUDDINGS DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR

by DAO

IT IS NOT A TART! It’s a pudding! If you cannot get to Bakewell, let Bakewell come to you. Please read on. This is a nice little shop that also serves as a tea room and gift shop. You can select from a huge variety of cakes and puddings, not just the famous ones. They also have gourmet coffees, teas, chocolates and other goodies. Throw in a few handicrafts and you have a place worth having a peek at. They also ship famous Bakewell Puddings – worldwide. If you don’t believe me, go to the town Post Office at 5 o’clock! Their website listed below has more information, prices and availability. Bon Appétit!

gran caffe rossi martini: avoid at all costs

by kmintz

Unless you are starving and about to pass out, avoid this place on the road by the colosseo. The food sucked and they were rude. There are no prices for the wine. When you order the " house wine", it comes out to about 14$ a glass. Beware!!!!! It is a rip off joint with a great location. Pizza was awful.

"ARTHIE'S": The Best Mussells I Have Ever Eaten

by Glassy

Eating at ARTHIE'S Restaurant was one of the highlights of my recent European trip. The garlic mussels were, quite simply, the best that I have ever tasted and I wish that I lived closer to this restaurant as I would be a very regular diner. As it is, I live in Australia, so sadly, I will not be dining at this terrific little restaurant until the next time I visit Brugge, Belgium. The restaurant is small, modern, eclectic and chic and the service is both friendly and excellent, with a very appetising menu selection and a good wine list. My favourite dish was the garlic mussels which were just sublime. It was one of those memorable meals you sometimes have, that you wish would never end!

Cafe Glockenspiel: Cafe Glockenspiel

by b1bob

The Cafe Glockenspiel has everything you could ask for. A great view of Mozartplatz, great entrees, and great desserts. My group took a mid afternoon snack here. The veal was pretty good, but I was really there for the rich dessert called the sachertorte and I decided to try it. It may have been many years ago, but I still remember the taste as strange as it seems. Friends and neighbours, it doesn't get any better than this!

Zucchini's: Z is for Zucchini's.. a favourite of mine

by sourbugger

Don't miss out on the Buffet This restaurant has two branches : Lincoln and Boston, both in lincolnshire UKIn an abundance or warm oranges wood and wine bottles, this mid-range Italian is often busy. The availability of the lunchtime buffet for five-quid soon fills up the seats. The buffet itself always has salad, pizza three of four pasta dishes and a couple of meat ones.a la Carte meals are still a reasonable price, with a good selection of authentic Italian dishes on offer, many from the native Naples of the owners.

Harrod's Oyster bar: O is for the Oyster bar at Harrod's, london,UK

by sourbugger

A pearl of an aphrodisiac In the Corner of the Harrods Food Hall, a tourist site in itself stands the Oyster bar.You sit up on high stools as the food is freshly prepared before you. It's not supriseingly a tad on the expensive side, but if you share half-a-dozen (beginning at about 12 pounds) you can think of it as an extravagent starter and then go on elsewhere.

McDonalds : A metaphor for Cambridge, UK: Y is for You can't be serious - mucky dees ?

by sourbugger

Before you get the impression that Sourbugger has lost the plot and has started recommending Mucky Dee's just hear me out.Cambridge is trying desperately to introduce the modern world into it's ancient and hallowed city centre. McDonalds can thus act as a methaphor for this process that is happening across the city in terms of shopping, transport, hotels, colleges and housing.Firstly, the restaurant must not announce itself too garishly. Entrance is via a narrow entrance off Neal's yard with only a simple 'M' gently swinging above the door.Secondly, the restaurant must work around the pre-existing structures. It does this by createing a space out of old backyards and the like.Thirdly, it must at one and the same time make reference to an ancient glorious past and a bright tomorrow. It does this by having a roman forum theme with various broken columns about - and having half a dozen...
