    Marketplace: Souvenirs

    by Vanity666 Written Jul 13, 2009

What can you buy there? Actually, mostly everything you could print "Dracula" on.

Except only two things I wanted to take home from Transylvania: Hawthorn stake and a Dracula doll.

So I just took some cups and t-shirts for gifts to bring home. And postcards, of course.

What to pay: Prices are from few euro (magnets, cups) to few hundred euros (hats, suits), depends what you want. And haggling is very important because you can lower the prices a lot.

    Market: Souvenirs

The path leading to the ticket booth for the castle tickets is lined with souvenir shops. Here you find all sort of useful things and kitsch. Postcards start at 1 RON.

There are public toilets in the area opposite the ticket booth. They are underground and cost 1 RON.

    Street stalls: Dracula parafrenalia

by hydronetta Written Jun 26, 2007

Brasn was one of the places with the highest concentration of stalls selling souvenirs. The majority of them as expected was Dracula oriented (and surprisingly their target group was children). Unfortunately most of them were awfully kitsch, so unless you're fan on the kind, then avoid shopping.

bazaar at the entrance in the castle park: Cheese

by josephescu Updated Aug 1, 2006

What to buy: If you really want to buy something from the bazaar at the castle entrance, then i would reccomend the local made cheese.
People in this region have been selling good quality cheese for centuries....and the cheese receipt is traditional, not to mention the fact it is entirely BIO.

What to pay: depends on the slice weight

    Craft market: Dracula souvenirs

by Dabs Written Jun 20, 2005

In the area surrounding the entrance to the castle there are a multitude of booths selling local craft items and vampire souvenirs. We had about a 1/2 hour to kill before the castle opened so we did a little shopping here where the selection of vampire junk was the best.

What to buy: We picked up Vlad the Impaler tshirts for the nephews, a Smile from Transylvania tshirts for the nieces, a few wooden toys including hatchets and maces and some vampire vodka.

What to pay: Prices were very inexpensive, about $1 US for the toys, $4-5 US for the tshirts (not very good quality though, wash with care!)

Dracula Bazaar: From ashtrays to false teeth.

The Dracula Bazaar has got all sorts of Dracula memorabilia which I hated but maybe some of you will love.

Stuff is cheap and you will find from Dracula's wall plaques to false fur coats and false plastic teeth.

On the our Souvenirs Boutique you can find the scenaries; works representing the castle and the region of Transylvania

What to buy: You could bay very nice and cheep souvenirs. Usually, you can souvenir for less then 2 $, but there are thinhs that may force you to pull out of your wallet even 25-30 $. For example, a scenery is about 0,2$ and a set of 20 sceneries is aboout 1,5$. Very cheep, isn't it??
Some of the tinhg you could find are:
    - scenaries
    - basseball bats
    - wooden plates and jugs
    - chairs and tables
    - lots of funny things
The thing you musn't forget is that everything here is made of wood !

What to pay: Unfortunately, the most shops (you should know that there is not even one supermarket) don't accept the credit cards. They accept only cash - lei (romanian national currency, euro, dolars etc.
