Although this castle is mostly known as "Dracula's castle" there is no trace of famous Count anywhere in the castle. Only thing that will remind you of the famous bloodsucker is the inner yard of castle you've probably seen on movies.

Normally, there is an additional fee for using cameras, starting at 10 lei (aprox. 3 EUR), and a sepparate ticket should be bought from the entrance.
If your budget is limited, this fee can easily be avoided - simply don't buy this extra ticket, as while you will be allowed to carry your camera with you, once you are INSIDE the castle rooms, no one will check whether you're actually "allowed" to take pictures or not.
Fun Alternatives: On the other hand, you can always blame a misunderstanding....:-)

If possible, avoid visiting the castle on Sundays - in addition to the usual foreign tourist flows, the castle is a very popular destination among Romanians as well, being easy to reach from some major Romanian cities including Bucharest.
Besides, the castle rooms and corridors are small, and you won’t be able to enjoy the most of the visit.
Unique Suggestions: Visit the castle in the morning, as early as possible / as soon as you arrive.
Fun Alternatives: weekdays are a good alternative. Maybe closed on Mondays, so check in advance.

If you are to come to Bran's castle, come early!
It gets crowded with tourists very quickly and the best pic of the courts you will get it will be something like this.
Not mentioning, that the castle is small and aisles get so crowded, and people gets so rude sometimes....
The place has got more character when it is empty. Believe me....

Don't let anyone sell you Bran Castle as Dracula's castle.
It is not, and you will see as soon as you pay the price and come inside.
It is a royal residence and as such it has got a lot of interest but let's be honest, if a vampire ever, ever set foot here.... I can fly too.
