  • Cantacuzino Castle

While in Brasov or in Peles, why not include Cantacuzino Castele in your places-to-visit list? The Cantacuzino Castle was built in 1911 at the request of the former Romanian minister, Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino. The entrance to the castle is uphill so your guess is right - you'll see a nice view when you reach the gate. You'd like to lie...

  • Visit the park

Visiting the park even in winter time, seem to be something that gets done around here. In the evenings the park was beautifully lit with wonderfull lights and just made it look so welcoming.

This one is for the brave ones only. They only use the tummy of the cow which they cut into thin strips and it is a creamy soup, to which they add additional sour cream

  • Try their delicious soup.

I tried the daily soup they had here and it was really delicious. I liked it so much, that I could not stop to eat it. Very delicious.

  • Tripe soup

Most of the restaurants will serve this soup. I was not brave enough to order it, but did try a spoonful from my friend's. Tasted much like sour cream to me.

  • Caraiman Hotel restuarant

Firstly, we had to request service as no-one was interested in serving anyone. Secondly, most of the dishes they could not serve as they were out of stock. Then the food that we did get was of such bad quality that I would not recommend anyone going there.

We were caught in a snow storm without snow tyres and that made the trip a bit stressfull for us. However the sight of the forests and in the mountain passes were absolutely breathtaking and for someone like me who is not used to it , it was absolutely fab.

  • Walking in the snow

Be carefull when walking in the snow as you could find yourself no longer walking, but lying on your back.

  • Driving in the snow

Now this one might not be for you Europeans, but it is for us people who never ever get to drive in snow. You need to ensure that the car you are driving has to correct snow tyres. Driving with snow tyres just make it so much more easy. When you get to spots where there are no snow on the road do not exceed 50km per hour!

  • The path to the waterfall is very...

Be careful, no matter what time of the year you chose to make this short hike, the path is always muddy and slippery. Take care what you wear cause you'll get a lot of mud on your shoes :O) It's worth it, don't worry! It's even funny to see all your friends hopping like rabbits to find dry spots on the path :O):O):O)

This one is a must-see.It used to be the residence of King Carol I and when it was built was one of the most modern and comfy castles of Europe. The interiors are nice but nothing you have not seen in other castles across Europe. Besides the guided tour is not what I would call knowledgeable. Quite short and not very interesting. I heard over the...
