They have a lot of great icecream .You can have it 2 go or inside .
Plus they have a selection of sundaes made with fresh fruits,frappees and cocktails.
If you are an ice cream lover that' s your place (for sure i know it's mine).

Favorite Dish: WELL!!!
It's called chilliatto and it's amazing:belgian chocolate icecream,caramel sauce and chilli flakes plus the physalis a kind of sweet and sour fruit.It's the extreme type of dessert and i love it

Outside seating in the warmer months and indoors has upstairs and downstairs with a special area for non smoking which they refused to let us in. As we did not want to sit in the smoke filled room (Many people smoke in Romania) we chose a bigger table. I could not believe how rude the staff were insisting we sat elsewhere and when asked why we could not sit in the non smoking section we were looked at like idiots lol...

Our group of 4 decided to get up and leave. Very smokey, poor attitudes from the staff and when I complained to one of them she could not give a toss...be warned its expensive nothing special and now very very poorly run. Management must not train anyone?

Favorite Dish: There is nothing good to say about the place any more. It used to have good food and various choice and friendly staff now its not worth the extra costs that they charge.

Many other good quality places to choose from up the road from here is the Taverna a great place.

As you enter the establishment you feel a little strange by going the steps. Watch your head! But as you then see the bar in front of you and go to your seating area (smoking and non smoking) the atmosphere is very unique. The staff speak English fairly well and welcome you and really do a good job. Music, style and creativity of the place really speak volumes its a must for a meal if your in Oradea.

At the time I was there the beer was buy one get one free!

Favorite Dish: There is a wide selection to choose from and they have English menu's. They can help you with your choice especially if your wanting to try Romanian or Hungarian dishes but they have all types of food for everyone's choice.

I really enjoyed the Veal.

I was shocked when I saw a sign for Gyors in Oradea, Romania. It is a little walk in store front where you order and eat standing up at a tall table or shelf. They come in beef or chicken ( beef is the best :-)) and they are served with veggies, katchup, mustard, mayo and french fries on the inside!!! This was a great mid day or late night treat before hitting the bars. It is cheap, filling and very good....I crave these and can not wait to go back for more.

Favorite Dish: Beef Gyro with a coke!

This is a great little find in a basement located across the street of the Continental Hotel. Great menu and selection for any taste. Nice selection of beer and wine with a bar attached. I loved everything that I have had there during my several trips. One of our favorite places to entertain. Prices are very good for the amount of food that you get. Beware!!! Try to get away from smokers as this is a pretty small place. The decor is simple but yet inviting with wooden benches and stone work on the walls. Mixture of Hungarian, Romanian dishes.

Favorite Dish: I loved any of the chicken or pork dishes. It is best to have people try different things so that you can sample.

When in Oradea there is a great little coffee shop/bakery on the main strip 2 blocks down on the left going away from the theatre. Sure there are more updated coffee houses with new machines and trendy atmosphers. But if you owant a feeling of history and a great cup of espresso....hit this spot. They also have the best creamesh in town and Americans will think of it as a Nepolian. This is great because it is creamy with a hint of lemon in it. The best I have had . I stopped in daily during my visit.

Favorite Dish: Creamesh ( custard filling with filo like top and bottom) YUMMY!!!!!!

The place is almost next to the Lord's in the Vulture passage. Hard to miss later in the evening because there is always a huge amount of people queing. An dyou always see people with those sandwiches. And it keeps open till the three major bars/clubs (Lord's, Red and Downtown) have closed. Which can be anything between 3 and late. So if you're hungry at an untimely hour it is worth checking it out.

Also of course during the day you can go here for a sandwich. The only dissadvantage is that you can't sit here. But when teh weather is good,. you can always it it on a bench at piata unirii. t

Favorite Dish: Love the veggie sandwich

Faustos has good sandwiches. Even though it was a bit difficult the first time to make a choice My romanian wasn't good enough to read the menu.. so i just pointed at something that looked vaguely familair in name. Luckily the second time there was someone who spoke a bit of english.. This was last year. The menu has been updated and there is a whole lot more on it now. It isn't my favorite place except in summer when you can sit on the terrace and watch everybody going by. Especially since inside one can usually see (older) men eyeing the women. It is a sort of ' dating' place for this. So just go when it is either almost empty or when the terrace is out.

And it also has this nice terras from which you have a view of calea republicii and the piata regele ferdinand
