Oradea Shopping

Lotus Market is a nice, new modern shopping center in the suburb of Oradea. In the all city you will find advertisment to this shopping center and you wont have problam to get there. There is a free parking in the area, in the mall there are about 50 shops, some cafes and restaurants, a big supermarket and 5 screen cinema which is the hit of the Mall.

What to buy: The stores are not too special but they are good. there are some sport shops, including Nike and Arena, fashion stores, including Kenvelo and more... there are also shoes stores including Leonardo. there are also electronics, cosmetics, and a good store that called Diverta where you can find elecronics, office equipmebt and good books.

What to pay: Higher then avarage but not higher then city Center. In western standarts the shoping center is even prety Cheap.

Oradea has a great little gallery on the main strip nt to far from Xuxa. Here you will find some nice local art at very good prices. Often the art will be of landscapes and city buildings. This makes for a great treasure to bring home with you and what a better way to spend your money than by helping the local arts.

What to buy: local original art

What to pay: $50 - $250

This is a great little shop that reminds you of a "hippy" type shop in an eclectic strip in an major US city. They have great jewelry at good prices and the quality is ok. Here you will also find postcards of the city, t-shirts ( not very good quality) be careful of the press on ones with old photos of the city as they do not wash very well. If you are looking at the store from the main street a couple doors down to the right you will find another store that has a good selection of hand made goods, tshirts (some very funny) and this is a great place to pick up gifts for people back home.

Here you can find anything you want.....if you are willing to pay for it. Nice place to visit if you are alittle homesick as ou can catch a movie and have a decent slice of Pizza. Other than that, I would stick to the outdoor market, flea market and little private shops.

You can find anything in Lotus and you can also play: pool, bowling, skuash, there is also afitness center inside and a Holyywood multiplex movie theather with 5 cinemas.
