It has quick internet connections and all other other related facilities like printer and CD/DVD burner. Drinks are available as well.
The lady in charge is very friendly and speaks excellent English. Half an hour internet sets you back 1,20 RON, an hour costs 2,40 RON (about 0,75 Euro, 2007).

One late afternoon we visited La Vatra Ardealului, due to a recommendation in my guide book where it was described as to have the best cakes in town.
It is a small, simple furnished cafe with a few glassy counters full of homemade sweet delights, like cakes, cookies and tarts.
You have to make your order at the counter where you also directly have to pay.
We sat down at the table by the window, which offers great view of both the street and the cafe. I had a very tasty piece of Krantz cake accompanied by a black tea. The tea and the cake was only 9 RON (about 2,70 Euro, 2007).

On our first evening we had dinner in Taverna Sarbului, which was situated just opposite to our hotel.
Taverna Sarbului meaning "Serbian's Den", is specialised in Serbian cuisine. It is part of a Romanian chain with restaurants in 4 towns.
The restaurant is located in a cellar vault with dark wooden furniture. The cellar can become a bit noisy when it is packed with people. On warm days a terrace is open in an inner courtyard.
The menu is available in several languages and offers a wide variety of international, but mainly Serbian meals.
I opted for Raznjici which usually consists of two skewers with pork from the grill. The dish was as expected: yummy and filling. The cost for the Raznjici and a pint of local Ursus beer was 25 RON (about 7,5 Euro, 2007). We once visited Restaurant Sergiana for lunch and were quite surprised how much it was frequented by locals on a normal weekday around lunchtime.
It consists of one room at street level and a maze of brick walled cellars downstairs. The waiters are dressed in traditional transylvanian clothes.
The menu is available in English and offers transylvanian and Romanian dishes. Both German and Romanian beers are on offer.
I decided for cumetrie tigaie which were three tasty long sausages with polenta as side dish.
The price for my meal was only 13 RON (about 3,90 Euro) and 4 RON for a softdrink. The restaurants Pizzeria Roma and Spaghetteria Venezia have the same owner. We visited them both during our stay in Brasov. One evening we chose Pizzeria Roma for dinner.
It has separate rooms for smokers and for non-smokers; which you might appreciate as smoking is still quite popular in Romania. The interior is equipped with wooden furniture and both Italian and Romanian decorations.
On warm days the large outdoor terrace is open.
The multilingual menu offers a wide variety of Pizzas which come in two sizes. In addition to this a selection of desserts is served as well.
I had a Pizza Quattro Stagioni and a Pint of local Ursus beer. The Pizza was nice, but not too exciting. Also I was a bit surprised that they didn't have any sharp Pizza knives available, but only normal blunt knives.
Maybe our expectations were a bit too high due to many very good reviews in most of the guide books. The bill was 19,70 RON (about 5,90 Euro, 2007). One evening we went to the restaurant Butoiul Sasului (Saxon Barrel) for dinner. It consists of various rooms in a red brick cellar vault.
All rooms are decorated with paintings and antiques from Romania. Sometimes live music (e.g. piano) is perfomed. An outdoor seating area is available in an inner courtyard.
The menu offers authentic Saxon and Transylvanian cuisine. I ordered porc (19,50 RON) with fried potatoes (6,50 RON), a colesaw salad (3,00 RON) and a bottle of local Ciuc premium Pils (4,50 RON).
The dish was excellent and with 33,50 RON (about 10 Euro, 2007) reasonably priced.
Just note, if you are sitting in the room with the piano, the piano player might sooner or later appear and start playing. If you are then sitting next to the piano conversation is almost impossible. The restaurants Spaghetteria Venezia and Pizzeria Roma have the same owner. We visited them both during our stay in Brasov. One midday we chose Spaghetteria Venezia for lunch.
The restaurant consists of a longish room with simple wooden furniture, an Italian bar and large impressive paintings of the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square on the wall. An outdoor terrace is available as well.
They are specialised in all sorts of pasta dishes, but pizza and salads are listed on the menu as well.
I opted for the Salata alla Venezia which was a mixture of mainly green salad, tomatoes, eggs, ham and cheese. It was a tasty huge portion. Turabo Cafe is a franchise chain of fancy Romanian cafes. In 2007 they had 7 cafes all over the country, one of them in Brasov.
One morning we went to Turabo Cafe for a drink. It is located on the upper level of the shopping gallery "Galleriile Corona".
You can sit in comfy armchairs directly by the windows which are facing the Town Hall Square, so you will have an excellent view of what is happening outside.
They serve all sorts of coffee, beverages and cocktails. Snacks like salads, sandwiches and cakes are on the menu as well.
Unfortunately a hot chocolate was not available, so we decided to have black tea, which came with a small packet of honey.
With 6,50 RON (about 1,90 Euro, 2007) per tea it was about double the price than in other cafes. For western standards it is still relatively moderate, but for Romanian standards definitely expensive. However, the main reason to go here is the view of the Town Hall Square (Piata Sfatului). Capra Neagra (Black Chamois) is a building complex consisting of a pizzeria, a restaurant and a discotheque. It is located in Poiana Brasov, a skiing resort just outside Brasov.
When we visited Poiana Brasov, we had a light lunch here. The restaurant consists of two very large rooms and a large outdoor terrace.
The furniture is kept functional. The place is probably very popular in the skiing high season.
The menu offers all sorts of local and international dishes. Pizza is available in the adjacent Pizzeria. I only had a beef soup (ciorba tar. vac) and a mineral water. The soup was yummy and warming on the wet cold October day. The bill for these two things was 10 RON (about 3 Euro, 2007).
