I'm sure you will enjoy the ambiance and the food, pure Romanian. The restaurant is decorated with pickles, corn...ha ha, it looks lovely, and the food is plenty, the portions are big. Sour soup...or "ciorba" in Romanian and "sarmalute" with polenta (mamaliguta).
It is probably the best known restaurant in Poiana Brasov and the best in my opinion. It looks lovely no matter the season you go there. During the summer you can sit outside on the terrace, enjoy the fresh air and the view. It's desingned in a traditional style and you see a lot of wood, sheep furrs, vegetables...it's really a pure old Romanian style restaurant. The food is also amazing, you can eat whatever you wish, but don't miss the traditional "sarmalute" with polenta or "pastrama de oaie" with polenta again. The service is very good and most of the staff speak English...if not, just call me and I will translate for you :) My favourite dish there is called "bureti murati" salad and it means wild mushrooms preserved in a solution made of water, salt, vinegar and garlic..the same like pickles...but much much better.
