The road towards Moldova Veche was almost completely empty, at least when we went there at the end of August. I can tell you for sure that you won't find so many tourists around these places, therefore, grab a friend and enjoy these perfect moments by the Danube!!!

As I told you before, it's tricky catching the sun set near Moldova Veche if your accomodation is somewhere in Turnu Severin for example. You might try to catch it on your way back. We didn't think at all of the aspect that the road will be without any illumination, except the one of the moon :O) And it was the day that the trip began in Bucharest..So... good luck to the driver!
We just ate some pan cakes in Moldova Veche, got bitten by mosquitoes and drove back through the night to Turnu Severin!
We got the chance to see Portile de Fier "the Iron Gates" ( in between Orsova and Turnu Severin) illuminated, which is definetely the best way to see them, by night time!
