Cluj-Napoca Nightlife

Don't even ask me how I ended up here. If you like heavy metal, hard rock, mullets, studded leather and cigarette smoke you'll LOVE Hard Club. Stopping by for a drink was pretty funny, but it's not my scene so I can't judge it fairly. This may be the only nightclub in the world where you can choose from three different types of hot chocolate or vanilla rooibos tea to drink while you listen to a band called S.L.U.T. perform their greatest hits live.

Wandering around Cluj-Napoca looking for a bar might be an easy feat when the universities are in session, but it can actually be a bit challenging in the off-season! A local pointed us towards Insomnia, which is located on the second floor of a building very close to Piata Unirii.

Sadly, I think the owner's grandmother may have passed, only to have her apartment (with all its original furnishings!) converted into a bar. Insomnia sprawls across an entire floor of an apartment building. Small rooms are eclectically furnished with seats and tables that range from gulag-worthy to so comfortable you'll never want to leave. This isn't a nightclub so there's no dancing. It's just lounging, listening to music and having a drink. Friendly servers will take your order and bring your drinks no matter where you sit, but you have to visit the bar to meet the slightly insane female bartender. On the night we visited she was dressed a bit like a nurse, and granting wishes with the power of her magical fairy wand. Her English was impeccable, though her train of thought may have inspired the word LOCOmotive.

If you like quirky, interesting bars where you don't have to dress to impress, and where you're likely to meet other like-minded people, Insomnia should be your first stop on the Cluj-Napoca nightlife circuit.

People from this bar are really friendly and because the manager is an american they all speak english and they treat you like one of their friends. They have Daily specials, Happy Hours between 18:30 - 20:30 and every weekend "Le General`s party" when you get specials and concerts with famous local bands.

Prices are fair and you also can sing Karaoke (monday and tuesday) so it is really nice to hangout there if you go to Cluj Napoca even for 1 night. They are also the biggest Guiness Beer sellers from the whole county.

Dress Code: Casual dressing

Several interestingly decorated rooms that will allow you to count sheep, and the occasional pig as well. The music here is quite good (mostly rock).

Warning: don't order Silva on draught (la halba) as it is not very good here. Go for a bottle instead.

Dress Code: Largely student crowd.

Let me recomand you the newest club in town. It is called Tutankhamun and it has a capacity of over 2500 people. Give it a shot. It's worthed. It is situatted in the district of Zorilor. Just ask for it. Anyone know it !!!

Other interesting club to go are: Rolland Garros, Kharma, Diesel, Crema and Incognito.

The night-clubs such as Club Max, Club 69, Wake-up Disco, Sun, Club Latino and my favourite one Club 30 Plus
Good music(house and latino),drinks are not very expensive,you can meet a lot of interesting people.
In Club 30 Plus every Saturday night there is a theme party.For instance last night was the greek nighe.That means they play mostly greek music, the greek specialties(mainly drinks) are offered at a special price.last week there was a salsa night.There were professional salsa dancers and it was a pleasure watching them dance.They even ask customers to dance and teach them a few moves.

Dress Code: Very tight t-shirts,short skirts,tight pants.
Red and white are the collors of this year's summer.
There is also the chance to go there and see that you have to wear something black in your outfit and maybe win a price.

This cute little cinema offers a lot of independent and European films. Very cheap on Tuesdays!!
