Miscellaneous: Like many other countries in Eastern Europe, Romania is a rapidly developing country. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to find a Tourist Information Office or just a free map, therefore an up to date guide book is highly recommended, especially for independent travellers.
On both our trips to Romania in 2007 and 2008 we used the new German travel guide Reise Know-How - Rumänien und Republik Moldau which was very helpful. Unfortunately it is
not available in English.
Another very useful travel guide is Trescher Verlag - Rumänien entdecken . Also this book is, to my knowledge, only available in German, but regarding descriptions of the sights it is the most comprehensive.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Warm clothes, bring a warm hat, gloves, good winter coat, and a scarf. The wind can be brutal during the winter.
Miscellaneous: Keep in mind that Cluj is a developing city and Romania its self is still developing, if you are used to many of the western amenities, you many not find them here. So bring with you what you will need.

Luggage and bags: A tourist coming here should know that Cluj is a city which benefits of quite a nice weather. If the trip is planned in spring or summer,it's good to know that temperature often raises up to 30 degrees. If the trip is planned in autumn,it's good to know that rain doesn't go arround this city so an umbrella would be extremely necesarry.During winter temperature can go down to -15 degrees so I guess that says it all.
